Got another upgrade tonight...I have just been on a tear lately.

This baby went 44.5"x25.5" and 70 points. I am thinking this is my new PB which I have beat three times now in the last 10 days or so. I think this one might be my first 40 lb fish, but again I could be wrong as I did not get a weight of this one or the last biggun.

Leaderboard update:

All I can say is WOW!

I'm doing everything I can just to keep the scores updated. Way to go everyone. I'm afraid I won't even make the top 20.

I’m going to have to stoop to drastic measures and fire up the photoshop and just start pluggin in some numbers for myself. grin

As much as I would love to see my name up there in the green (or even on the visible leaderboard for that matter) it is a lot of fun having the bar set and having something to shoot for. Just a little added incentive to keep at it and everyone’s eager participation and honesty is what makes this so much fun for me, thanks.

A free rod is nice too smile

Also I would like to mention that the entries are just flying in so it wouldn’t surprise me one bit to have screwed up somewhere along the line. Please keep tabs on me and double check to make sure everything looks ok, not only with your score but others as well.

And……if you didn’t notice we have a new leader on the channel side as well. It’s going to be very tough to compete with those Red River boys, but I have faith in Steve, Jake, Ed (just to name a few) to not go down without a fight.

I wouldn't worry too much, Darren. Lot of season left. I felt the same way last year when I couldn't hang a good fish. We always see some huge fish in the August - September timeframe after the spawn and they start feeding heavy again.

All it takes is one night of big fish and you reshape the whole leader board. My personal best is a 55 lb fish that came on August 14th. The KOTC season isn't over until October - we are going to see some big fish yet. Last year the top 5 flathead spread was 227 points to 215 points - the way we are going this year I'm wondering if my current 219 will make the Top 10 at the end of the year.

It is going to be a fun summer. Lots of good competition this year. Those of us able to put in a lot of time have an edge because we have hooks in the water a lot longer than most guys are able to. You just have to keep fishing and make those bullhead sacrifices to the flathead gods.

Good post! Yep I posted pretty much what Steve said in Steve's June 4 Thread grin Figured it was a little long so I cut it down to just a congrates grin

We say it every year about this time "it is a long summer". The factor I was thinking about also is at any week the river could change. All it will take it a week long down pour and things will change. For the better or worse, who knows?

I figure being the tortass whistle this year, having fun, and doing the right things is good enough for me. If I get a fish all the better. If I do not get fish during a trip, take the data (stuff, video, SI .jpg's and GPS and even notes) learned from the trip, and use it for the next time I get out. Even if what you think is actually wrong (with me the chances are good grin), having a good level of confidence is key when out fishing (Dtro had a report study on this a couple years back).

I know I have one good fish (which is better for me than in 07 and 08), but I will tell ya I am having more fun this year than even the fist year in the KOTC, with the amount of action and involvement (good group) in 2009. I think we are in store for a good year and a fun rest of the summer and fall. Keep it up guys. smile

Like Steve said all it takes is a good night or two (which you have had back to back the last couple years) with a couple of upper 50's and a 60 and this game is over grin If Dtro is in the boat anyone (including him self) has the odds in their favor on good things happening grin

With the levels dropping we will have to head out somewhere upstream of the crowds with my boat and make a run for the green. I'll bring the bait grin

The crummy weather put the brakes on the entries this weekend. Hopefully just a short lull in the action.

The Red River boys continue to put on a clinic on the Channel side. Nice fish guys!

Nice debut Tyler! Impressive totals on the Channel side for sure.

You guys up there are going to tempt a few folks to make a road trip I'm thinking (myself included).
