Personally, I like going to the dome to watch games, I guess not everybody else feels the same way. It would shatter my world if the Vikings get moved to anywhere else, especially LA. We need some immediate success, and we need to keep Zygi here so he keeps the team here..

The dome isn't the best to watch a game in but it get's the job done. The big thing for the owners is they want the extra rev that new stadiums generate. I would be all for a new one, but we can't ask for more money to do it.

bring on the new stadium I dont mind the dome but an outside field would rule we live in minnesota and can deal with all the types of weather. It would prolly help us win twins/vikes when the southern teams come up.

I think if they spent a little money fixing it up, and finding places to park they would be good for awhile. I dont mind the dome, I just hate parking a mile away just so you dont have to pay $25 to park.

I read that the Gophers wanted to operate and get all the revenue from conscessions and parking and the Vikings said no way, after all, like stated earlier, that's the reason they want a new stadium....to create more revenue.

I hope they can get it through soon, the developer in LA just passed a major hurdle yesterday for getting his new stadium built, it's just a matter of time until they move a franchise out there. Pawlenty refuses to even talk about it though....when is the next election!

What these owners need to figure out, people may go once to see the new stadium, but will continue to keep going if they put a good team together to watch. If they want to fill the stands, sure the first year the stadium will be packed, after that it will just be empty again, unless they put together a good team!

There is no way we'll get an outdoor stadium. It'll be a retractable roof or remodel the dome.

Retractable roof would be awesome, but more $$$. I think a new stadium would be nice, but with the current economic conditions and the fact that the state is facing a huge budget deficit, money has to come from somewhere and the taxpayers who already are strapped arent going to cough up money to watch players that make millions a year play football. . . How about the players each pitch in some? They're the ones with the money.

I've often thought about this in the case of the Twins. I think the outdoor stadium is going to hinder their chances at certain free agents that don't want to play in the cold.

I suspect it would be the same for football. Any Green Bay or Chicago fans have any examples of this?

Ziggy won't accept the dome unless it comes with a couple square blocks of downtown. It's all about development around the stadium. Don't worry about a roof, they need to try and sell the possibility of holding a Super Bowl here to get the stadium built with public funds. Besides they couldn't blast the music without a roof.

Buy the NFL ticket for less then it would cost you for 2 seats in a new stadium and let them go.

Agreed. BUT- I think some of the things the Twins strive on, the hops, the bloops, the misplayed pop flys by the visiting team will be missed once the new place opens up.

As far as the Vikes the Dome is a great football stadium. Who wants to sit outside in sub zero weather? Look at these Packers fans- their brains have frozen. Idiots sitting outside, temps below zero, no shirts on. Frozen brains, I tell ya.

Know why??? Because the lawmakers couldn't get the numbers crunched as to have the taxpayers cough up the cash for it. Pohlads wouldn't spend the money on it, although they will get the revenue for the place.

it was built on the cheap in the early 80's, the economy was in the tank left over from the carter administration. i hope our legislators are smarter than that and don't do anything until the economy turns, otherwise we'll be stuck with another carpy stadium.

there is no way I want to pay for a stadium used for 8 games a year and with an economy like this is just stupid to even think of building one. there is nothing wrong with the dome, a couple updates and its good to go and if ziggy dont like it, well see ya. thats my opinion.
