Mine will run like mad after about 45 seconds to a minute.

on my gas tank it states let warm up for 1-2 min for best performance so thats what I do. its a SM 224

I think it depends on temperature to. They are cold blooded animals.

Leave it on half choke and idle till you think she is ready to go!

They all run differant so you just have to get the feel of it.

3 HP 1 min to 1.5 if it is -0 above 0...45 sec to a 1 min

2 hp 30 sec to 45 sec, -0 1 min.

Electric power units..with a good battery or connection..no wait needed,..hit the switch and go.

Hand Auger...depends on how lazy I am at the time.

Rushing into use a cold power auger is the #1 operator error issue that leads to most complains of poor performance with any brand of ice auger.

Next is poor fuel system management and or maintenance of ignition system, and the last and most obvious is poor maintenance on cutting edge surfaces.

I have an older Mag 2000 head with a Lazer Mag auger shaft. I put in the CJ8Y plug so it burns one step hotter and it takes about 5-15 seconds of warm up depending on how cold it is. Yesterday, it started right up and was ready to go with no warm up time at all. Popped about 20 holes and started fishing.

I've got the same setup as Polarsus81, and I usually give it a minute while I tend to other things like get my flasher out or hook up a heater. Then, it's always ready to go when I am! I might get that plug he's talking about, too.

Depends on the temp. I have a cold-blooded 3hp Jiffy. usually 15-20 seconds on half choke, hold wide open on no choke for 5 seconds and away i go.

I warm mine up the recommended 2-5 minutes, I can always find something to do with my other gear while it's getting ready.

Depends on the temperature. The colder it is the less I wait so I can get the heater started sooner. I have a Jiffy and they are work horses so I do not worry too much about warming it up.

I let it run for 1-2 minutes for the first start after that its 30-45secs.

I usually start my Jiffy 2 hp and let it lay on the ice and idle for a couple minutes while I do other things. I believe in getting the cylinder warmed up a bit before I hit the throttle. I also run it at about half throttle until I'm about half way done drilling the first hole. I do think they will take some abuse though.

Strikemaster ultra mag, two years old... I let her warm up about 15 sec or so. Runs like it hates the Ice.

I use a Strikemaster Lazer Electra 12000 - no warmup required! Yet another great feature of my electric auger

I usually let mine Jiffy warm up about 1.5 seconds and a cool down period of about 1 second.
