Yep. Sunday, the bigger smallmouth kind of disappeared.

The spinnerbait fish came on Friday (really windy) on rocks and Saturday (kind of windy) out of the lakes biggest bullrush bed. Jigs were hands down the most consistent.

Now, can you tell me how to extract fish out of the cabbage flats??? I can't even imagine what might live in there.

you dont have to. Just fish the deeper holes around them. we caught some fish at 14' off the bottom.

Took my boys on our first "real" bass fishing excursion. My son Kyle (black hat) caught his first "official" casting bass. He was thrilled. The day before, he caught a 19 1/2" large mouth while trolling spinners. We caught 6 bass and a northern in a couple hours and they can't wait until next weekend. I lost two while the bass jumped out of the water and spit out the lure. Kinda cool. We were casting spinner baits and crankbaits.

ray, a couple years ago we had pretty good luck on a windy, cold (50 degrees) late august day pulling swim jigs with 7" twisters over/through the cabbage flats on the nw side of "zipper lake". with that being said, listen to sled, i think hes got the lake dialed in a LITTLE more than i do...
