no apology necessary man, i hate to be THAT guy, but you know, you tell one guy and he tells one guy and pretty soon all these fish are handled a little better.

Heck of a smallie GeneralLee, last year and the year before a good class of smallies all seemed to rach maturity and i saw some fish close to that big in the 'sippi, haven't seen anything that large yet this year though, just a lot of 18-20's

nice smallies evinrude!

and nice white bass LOTWSvirgin! where would i get some of those? i have to add them to my lifelist as well

Well I got them in Iowa but if and when you go after your gar on the Minnesota you might be able to get some in there When there on you will have a blast catching them. You can put them right up there with other bass species for a fight they are agressive

p.s i mean the following as partly a joke...but people are concerned with holding a bass proper, which i pretty much agree with handling them well...

but the funny/ironic part is thats AFTER you set the hook with full force driving a 4/5/6/O hook or trebles through its face and lips...ripping its flesh and damaging cartilage...and worse like destroying nasal canals, popping an eye, gut hookin or trashin gills etc...but please hold the fish gently like a baby after you totally traumatize & disfigure it by catching it in the first place rather barbarically and ruthlessly lol

i apologize if you don't see the humor in that or take offense...

Are Spro frogs that much better than other brands?

I actually dislike them, they are not soft, somewhat rigid, and when fishing thick, filamentous, spirogyra algae, the spros seem to pick up excess algae. See for yourself, but i like the Boze Sumo and the Reaction Innovations Swamp Donkey much better. Less of the previously stated issues occur, for me anyway.

Are Spro frogs that much better than other brands? Seems like everyone that fishes frogs in the slop uses them.

For what they cost, I've stayed away up to this point, but I might have to reconsider.

I'll just leave you with this link to one of the other forums. There's quite the lengthy discussion on why people like certain brands of frogs and hooks, etc. Should give you an idea why some of us prefer them.

If your going to fish, you have to accept the fact that the hook is going to do some damage, there's no way around it. But this doesn't justify further preventable mishandling. Maybe I should barbarically punt the fish over the side of the boat after I break its jaw. I appologize if you don't see the humor in that or take offense...
