Mitchell Perch rod, great for the perch and eyes.

Meatstick for a soft tip for lite biters yet a good solid backbone for the hard fighters. Great panfish rod also.

Mackinaw rod for those hefty Lakers and northerns.

All of these rods come with a good 3 BB reel also. They sure look like a Tica and are as smooth with what seems to be a great drag.

Wowzers, I didn't know you guys could ice fish down in Kansas. I bet it's a short season, eh? I bet the 28 inch channel was hard to get in on that light gear!

my 'eye stick is a 28" YAD with a tica cetus reel spooled with 6lb mono and i believe its a medium action. Lots of backbone on that rod.

my crappie/sunnie/perch rod is a 24" Bro series UL spooled with 4lb test. the reel is the one that came in the combo and its ok. there are some things i would change with the reel but over all im very happy with the combo.

I have been gill and crappie fishing with a ultra-light st. croix legend 24in. i use 1 pound line, and after trying to make leaders of small jigs i just decided to practice and get good at tying knots directly to the jig on the ice (using the black of my bibs to see the thin line) it is fun! I had a 12 in crappie taking out line when my drag was set loose. too much fun! and the strike indicator on top is so convenient and really works well for me!

I will have to put another vote in for the Jason MItchell rods. When you use them you can tell you are using a good quality rod. I have a Meatstick, and a Perch rod. I just orderd 2 more Meatsticks, and another Perch, and also bought a couplePanfish rods. I have seen many good reviews about Jason Mitchells spring bobber Panfish rods, so I got one of them as well. I fish outside alot, and never got into spring bobbers because of the problems with them freezing. Although the spring bobbers on the Panfish rods I hear dont have this problem, so this may make me a spring bobber user, and I will be able to detect those light bites that I cant feel without a spring bobber.

Berkley Dave Genz Lightning Rods (that aren't made anymore).

That sure is a shame. They were one heck of a rod for one heck of a price! I still got 2 of them brand new in storage for when I break one of my rods I have now!

I loved using a spring bobber going after gills but it freezing up had to be my biggest pet peave. just when i'd hook a nice one i'd go to reel and the line wold be stuck, a pain in the arse. Anyways, thats why i got the st. croix legend and its a heck of a rod. I heard that the mitchel panfisher with a strike indicator on it is top notch as well! You won't want to panfish again without a set up like this.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
