thorski
Just wondering if we could get an update on Judd's condition? Hope everything is going better. Our thoughts and prayers continue for Judd.
Rooster Chaser
Judd is still in the hospital. At this point the doctors can't really explain what is wrong with him, but we know there is something that causes him to stop breathing. What that is, they don't know, so they continue to search. It is really cool that you folks are pulling for him. I do not know any of you, yet you are still thinking about him/us. Thank you, it is a bright spot.Keep pulling for him - actually pull for the doctors so they can figure this out, and he can prepare for his life outdoors! Dave S
Rooster, hopefully they find out what it is. Wishing you and your family the very best.I looked around to see if I could find anything that resembles the symptoms that you've described and one thing that stood out is congenital central hypoventilation syndrome (CCHS). We have the best medical professionals right here in MN and chances are they've looked into this. It is a rare condition that according to the article I read, it only affects 250 kids in the US. Dave S
Is there any updates on how Judd is doing?
Rooster Chaser
Judd has been home since January 31st.The doctor's suspect the problem related to his respiratory center, which is essentially the thermostat in the brain that controls breathing. They think his was immature, which finally caught up with him when he had a cold, and it caused him to stop breathing entirely. This is what he is being treated for.He has not had any problems since we have been home, and now we are working with physical and occupational therapy in order to get him back on track. We see progress everyday, and are excited for the future. We still have to keep a really close eye on him, and still have to keep hoping and praying. I just want to say thank you to everyone who left kind words, and had him in their prayers. The fact that he is alive is a miracle in itself, his daycare provider saved his life by checking in on him right after she put down for a nap. Members of the Henderson Fire Department, and LeSueur Ambulance crew continued CPR when they responded, and were the first ones to see him breath again. We have been able to meet with these folks and express our gratitude, and for them to hold him, in a much better condition than he was that day. These people do this in service to their community, and there is no words we can ever say that would convey our gratitude. The smiles and joy we witnessed when we met with them are indescribable. Hey, pigeons are free he can practice on them. Hopefully the stimulas package will leave Judd 50 cent roosters and 10 cent gas.
