apegs
I bought some st.croix ice rods and a jason mitchel perch rods but I need some reels. Wondering what some quality reels are. I am trying not to spend $100 dollars per reel so what are some decent reels for a decent price?
Bigeye30"
I'm a big fan of the shimona sedona sahara and or symetre all three are usually priced around 50 bucks. You shouldn't have any problems finding quality reels for under 100 bucks.
wanger29
Look into the Abu's. They are light-weight, reliable, and mostly inexpensive. I had required maintenance on 1 and the service I received was prompt and above expectations! I have 1 Okuma, 1 Mitchell, and a dozen Abu's. I've been sold for quite sometime now. With all that being said I am somewhat anxious to check out the new Jason Mitchell reels.
Northlander
I just got a new this year Sedona 500 and man is it SWEAT! Gander Mt has the last years Sahara for $30. Very nice real for the $.
NAMASafetyDirector
I agree, the Sedona's are really nice, I also have some Tica reels which work well and I also just bought my 2nd and 3rd Pfluger's. The small Pfluger President is beautifull! Also have an Abu and a Shakespear and a Cabelas. Over all though the best two I would reccomend are the Sedona or the Pfluger. harvey lee
Tica or Abu for me.
looneyducer
Mitchell's Avocet works well enough, as does any Pflueger or Abu. I've never tried a Tica. My personal favorite is a Shakespeare Synergy Supreme. Its drag system seems to work better cold than warm. One thing to consider: most people insist on tiny reels for ice fishing because you don't really need all that much line, but I have had better luck with larger, say medium action reels, as they are easier to use with cold fingers or even gloves. JimBuck
Okuma Hardstone...smoooooooooth.
Quetico
My go to ice reel is my Tica. Closely followed by the Sedona. Tica's are just hard to beat and they make it hard to look at any other reel. I know people who love the Abu's. I might try an Abu on my next set-up. lovebigbluegills
In my opinion, I don't think you can find a better drag than Quantum's for the money
