Deadliest Catch

Parts of after the catch are okay. Was humorous seeing Keith going up to the mast in his skivvies in 40 mph winds. And then the comment, "some things just can't be unseen".

The show itself was pretty good. I agree that Josh seems ready to take the helm when he's certified. Legacy is pretty important in an industry like that. But Freddie convincing him to head to Anchorage was what was really needed. Pretty touching to see.

yes that was a hard episode to watch, plus the emotion from the other skippers. Cool Jonathon was there for Josh. I was suprised so much of Phil in the hospital was aired, personally I think it crossed the line a little, but I suppose the boys consented to it so it is what it is

having my brother in law that had a stroke on may 13 at age 38 made the whole hour hard to watch. but it was a good episode and my wife toughed it out. brings back some hard thoughts. hopefully Jonathan will decide to run the boat for phil.

I think Phil Harris trusted those camerman and show producers pretty well. If you noticed when they were craning Phil in the basket off the boat that it was the Discovery Channel producer who had helped haul him out and was helping him quite a bit.

One other possible skipper could be Larry from The Sea Star he was on the show the first couple of seasons and has used his boat for the camera crews to get film of the boats while fishing.

Jake needs to get his priorities in order, but Josh can't make it happen by yelling at him. I do agree with Jon H about Josh needing to be the responsible one right now. This whole thing has increased my respect for the Hillstrands once again.

I was glad to see that they at least got to have some heart to heart discussions before his passing. Must've been really hard to see your Dad that way.

Seems like Edgar has made his decision, although you can tell it's one he struggles with.

Really good episode. I hope josh will have what it takes to take over the cornelia...wouldn't seem right having someone outside of the harris family running that ship. I'd like to see johnathan take him under his wing for a season or so and get him ready for it.

I also hope Josh can do it. Just as much, I hope Jake can straighten himself out and stay with the boat. He's on path of destruction and it's not going to end well for him if he keeps going this way. I hope the best for him, he's got some tough demons to deal with.

If josh becomes the captain, then I don't see any chance of jake working on the boat. I think the jake trade should be a permanent deal...the 2 brothers just can't work together, especially if one is the superior. And the other jake I think is just getting sick of being on the northwestern...seemed like he had a breath of fresh air when he was on the cornelia.

I kinda agree, but brothers will be brothers. Edgar and Sig always get into it, but deep down are tied at the hip. I would guess the Harris' are the same way, they are just really vocal.

I finally got to watch the after the catch from tuesday. That was pretty interesting. Looks like Freddy was pretty tight with Phil. The previews for next weeks deadliest catch looks like it might be emotional with loosing Phil.

I read a while back on a HSOforum that Phil told Jake that he needs to quit crabbing and find something else to do for a living. Josh seems pretty inexperienced to be running the boat, just from what I have seen watching the show, could be wrong. Seeing shows from a few years back Phil and Sig both look to have aged alot. Edgar needs to make a decision, this part of the show needs to go, he needs to man up and make a decision, I dont like soap operas. If these guys all cant retire with the money they all should be making off this show, I feel sorry for them.
