Musky_Madness
I picked up a 7ft St Croix Legend Bass Teaser rod over the weekend at a local outdoors store and am torn on what reel to fit it with. I am looking at several options. I will list them high $$$ to low $$$.Shimano CalaisQuantum Energy Pro PT 7.0:1 (Kevin Van Dam's baby)Shimano CuradoPflueger President, Supreme, SummitShimano CiticaI have a Citica already and love it as well as a President. I can get a steal on a Calais at a local store right now and save $100. But I don't know if I wanna dish that kinda dough out right now.Any input would be appreciated! bassNspear
PT is a awesome reel. I have one and love it.
luckycrank
I think there is a rebate on the curado right now but not for sure thought it was a 100 bucks after rebate.
slipperybob
Whenever you have a great oppurtunity to step up, I'd say go for it. Typically the higher end reels gives you much better line management and casting for lighter lures in the 1/8 to 1/4 oz range.
Deitz Dittrich
All depends on what you want to spend.. I have a few Shimano Chronarch. Love them reels!!!! LOVE EM!..Just picked up a new Core and cant wait to get it wet either..All in what you want to spend brother!
MattWtech
i can vouch for the pt being real smooth 2 years and going.
JP Z
I have a couple of each of the Pflueger President, Supreme, Summit and LOVE THEM. The Summit (Goldish one I think) Is unbelievealble. But if you are seriously considering Pfluegers, I'd move up to the Patriarch. Much better braking system.
st.crioxfishin
If you looking into the Quantum PT's, those also have a $50 rebate on them right now too. Not sure how much longer that deal lasts though...
Central Bassman
That is a great deal on PT reels. I have a few of them and LOVE EM!!!
jwhjr
I just picked up a Citica today. There's still a $30 rebate on it until the 30th, and a $50 on some of the other Shimano ones I think.
BassProAddict
Anybody got the goods on the Daiwa Viento or MegaForce with that Twitchin' Bar thingy?
RiverBassGuy
If you're looking for a reliable reel, I would look into getting a shimano. The Chronarch MG, Curado, and Citica are all top of the line in each of their price ranges.
gritsnham
I have a Supreme and it has been a great reel through 2 years of hard service. My first nice baitcasting reel and ill love it forever!
bassislife
I got a couple of citica's and love them to death. Very smooth, not one problem with them. I also have a couple quantum accurist pt's and love them too. Both are high quality reels and I would choose either of them over any other. rockman
I also have a couple of the Quantum Accurist PT's. Great reel.Would have bought a couple of the Curado's,but got a better deal on the Accurist's first.Still use several Abu Garcia Ambassadeur's, which see duty in a variety of situations. rangerforme
Suprised no one mentioned the Abu Garcia Revo's, only way to go in my opinion, get the sx I think, the model down from the stx. Outcasts my curados I have hands down.

Daiwa reels wont be as smooth as Shimanos (unless you upgrade bearings, etc.) but I like them for their break system. Magforce V, Magforce Z... you cant beat that in my opinion. External adjustment without taking the sideplate off. Like I said, I dont think Daiwas will be as smooth as the Shimanos, but they feel more comfortable. Musky_Madness
The new Patriarch from Pflueger has caught my eye recently. WOW! That thing is like reeling in silk!

I bought my Viento 2 years ago and it's my go-to rig. I love the thing! If anyone is a skeptic on the Twitchin Bar they need to try the reel for a full day. It's pretty amazing how well it actually can work the bait.I just bought the Megaforce last week and matched it up with a medium/fast 6'6". I'm looking forward to using them a lot more this summer (too much time spent casting for musky last year). I was on a budget when I bought the Megaforce otherwise the Revo SX if not the STX would have been a tough reel to pass up.
