Daze Off
SOmeone asked for pics so h ere a couple pics of my addiction - one is most of my cranks not counting very small ones for special stuff or walleye or muskie although there aren't many of any of those. Pictured are 9 trays with 30-40 baits in each tray. The other is the tackle pile of just bass stuff. Put it against a door so it has a scale. (Hope this works...) jwhjr
I think I'll have to show my wife these pictures to assure her that my lure "collection" is not that bad...

BassProAddict
Wow! Looks like we all got it bad. We're pretty much covered on the "quantity" aspect of the lure addiction we have but now what about the "quality" aspect? What's your top-of-the-line or most expensive lure/set of lures? How many of 'em you got? Why'd you get 'em? Most importantly, how much you get 'em for?I have a bunch of Yo Zuri/DUEL lures unavailable (for the most part) in the US.I also have a handful of Jackall HMKL K-1 lures. The Yo Zuri's cost about $16-18 a pop but the K-1's cost about $25 each. What's your secret weapon? Stick in Mud
I obviously make only a fraction of the money that most of you guys make, because there is no way on earth I could spend that much money on fishing lures that I didn't even use. So, I've got a rule--I don't buy lures at full price. I shop exclusively in the bargain bins; I know I know--it's not much fun, but I can't afford to buy stuff that just sits in a box. Seems kind of foolish, really. My secret weapon: In the river, it's a senko--I catch more fish on these than on live bait. In lakes, it's a senko--I catch more fish on these than on live bait. And with a little searching online, I've been able to find them for a dollar or two a pack, so I've got a lot of them around, and I figure after spending a few cents for an O-ring, I can catch one bass for about a penny. Add to that the fact that smallies in the Miss absolutely LOVE a three inch section of a senko wacky rigged, I can't catch dozens and dozens of fish on one bait. AFter I bite off the top of the thing after it gets ripped up, I'm left with only a small chunk, and I frequently catch them just on this chunk. I've got a few Lucky Crafts that went for $14-$16 each and I thought that would be the top but then I discovered the Strike King King Shads so I have three of those at $20-$22 a pop but they are unbelievable swim baits. I just love 'em.
TurnUpTheFishing
Most expensive lures I have for bass are some jackall and lucky crafts that go for $15-20 but I didnt/dont pay retail for them. I dont have many of them (maybe 20 lures total) because I only buy them when I find deals on them.I got most the lucky crafts 50% off. I also got lots of the jackalls and some lucky crafts at the sportshow this year for $2.99 a piece.
youngie22
Wow, there is a litle proof that I am normal, or atleast compared to other addicts. Just got done counting rapalas... 187... There has got to be a few more raps hiding somewhere, I know I'm missing a few. I can't wait to pick up some more too. I NEED a few more shallow shads, some husky jerk-baits, a couple of original floaters, and a bunch more new topwater...
youngie22
hey turn up, or any other lucky lure users; are all the jointed ones kind of hard to tune or make run correctly. I have had to spend a lot of time to tune these 20 dollar rigs right out of the box, rapalas I have down pretty well... lure runs one way, very slight tuch to the nose the other way, pretty simple, haven't been thrilled w/ the "lucky" lures
fishgutz77
I don't buy the lucky jointed lures anymore just because of that and I ran in to a bad streak of deep thundersticks as well.I am a lure collector so I've always had it bad. I sold 500 in one swoop 7 years ago because so many people were after them that it was no longer the fun it was for 15+ years. I still have a great collection that I won't part with. Getting the stuff together yesterday I counted 167 on cranks of all styles. has anyone used the new DB Diawa minnows yet? just picked up a few, they seem like they would run like a pointer. BassProAddict
Anybody here buy one of those Tru Tungsten and Castaic Platinum swimbaits?
Queenswake
Just a FYI -- Dick's Sporting Goods has all lures 20% right now. Including Rapalas. The only exclusion is Gulp Alive. Not a bad deal. I normally try to support MN retailers, but for Rapalas, you've got to get them where you see them cheap.
Deitz Dittrich
I buy a lot of Tru Tungsten Sinkers.. it about all I use for 'Deitz Rigs' and I got 3 of the Castiac plats at the show to try out this summer.

st.crioxfishin
One expensive lure I got last year was made by Sebile. Its about a $16 lure that I got for free at a tournament. Here's a picture: I used it for the first time a couple days ago and that thing is sweet! If your swimming the lure and then stop the retrieve it does a 180 degree turn like some of the bigger swimbaits on the market, pretty cool! RiverBassGuy
I'm Kevin Skalicky and I'm a rapala-holicI have a plano dedicated to each of the following: DT series, Originals #11, husky jerk-baits,shad raps, deep tail dancers, and I lump the top water poppers into one! And way too many rebel, norman, storm, reef runner, etc to shake a stick at.

BassProAddict
I'm not big on swimbaits but I got some jointed swimbaits recently.When/where do you throw this as opposed to a jerkbait?
Central Bassman
Not sure what jointed swimbaits you are talking about but most swimbaits i like to throw them around grass. I can't wait to get the new Berkley Holly Bellys wet!!!!

Daze Off
BPA - Just getting into swimbaits so really can't answer your question. My jointed ones are SK King Shads. Had one last year and threw it as an alternative to jerkbait for different look. Plan to throw more this year as I picked up a couple more. Generally, on open, rocky, or sparsely weeded flats and along weedlines up to about 12 ft. is when I throw/have thrown them.
