My buds think I am crazy but if you want to taste something really good, mix cottage cheese and Van Camp's pork and beans together. It has to be Van Camp's and both should be cold. Let me know what you think or what your favorites are. One other is Kraft shells and cheese with jif peanut butter.

Interesting combos- There is a burger in Grand Marais called the "Goober" w/ peanut butter and mayo-it's taken me years to finally try it and now it's a new favorite.

My bro is somewhat of a chef and is always looking for perfect exotic combos. He claims that a milkshake with crushed bacon and carmel will be a new sensation- a combo of sweet and salty. I've been way too chicken to try it, maybe someday.....

Oscar Meyer Bologna and Jif Peanut Butter sandwich... used to eat them all the time growing up! Need to try it again. Also a favorite before pheasant hunting... peanut butter and bacon on buttered toast for breakfast... MMM MMM!

Hartner, I have been seeing ton's of deer out it the fields but not as many turkeys as I normally see. They are definitely around but the flocks seem to be a little smaller. Might be breaking up into the breeding flocks??? Last year it seemed like there were more/bigger flocks. I hope they weren't trashed by this long winter. If you put your time in, I'm sure you will get your turkey and still have time to visit Mauer's!! Good luck! I grew up in this area so I probably know some of your family.

I agree with you on that on Ken!

I have a friend that puts peanut butter on the bun of with every bratwurst he eats and swears by it, but I can't bring myself to do that and miss out on the sauerkraut and mustard and not to mention messing with a good brat

I have a bud that like to take similar bets. One of his best:

sandwiched between an oreo

pickled herring

3 wax worms

1 live crappie minnow

hot salsa

and washed down with the juice left over in the herring jar. Cant wait for openers. sick.gif

MMMMM that is delicious except I like Captain kens beans heated through mixed with my cottage cheese and eat it with wavy lays as the scoopers. I also love the homemade strawberry jelly on a summer sausage sandwich, jimalm. MMMMM

Okay, here is my wierd combo. Though its not really all that wierd until the very end.

Eggs over easy

Fried breakfast taters (cut like french fries)

Sausage

Biscuits

Sausage gravy

Mix it all together on the plate and top it off with some maple syrup. Delicious.
