Juan Grande
Leech,I love that replica you had made. I like how the fish looks different from most bass mounts you see. Most of them have the mouth wide open with the head and tail bending towards you, yours is opposite. Very cool looking.
katoguy
Leech, that is a fine looking repo. I do have a question, though. Did you supply your pic of the fish to the artist? I would have thought that they would "personalize" it a little. Their paint job is nice, but not quite like your fish pic. Notice the dark lateral line by the tail in your pic, its not on the repo. The repo has 2 lines on the face going to the eye, unlike your bass. Also, the fins in your pic have character, the repo are in perfect shape. (My skin mount is the same - I think it has to do with durability.)
Royce Aardahl
This one went 20 1/2 inches. She was a beast and fought like one! Tasted great too! J/K, don't have a cow!! Didn't have the camera the day I got one 20 3/4 inch. Big fat pig! Fishing crappies and got her on a minnow under a slip bober so she don't count. The biggest I netted was a bigger beast 21 1/2 incher that dirtydog caught a few years ago on my birthday! that's why I calls him DIRTYDOG!! Picture 2. Actually about 10. Some of the pics really show good views of the lateral strip and the lines by the eye, just not the one I posted. They matched the paint almost dead on! Simply amazing stuff! As for the torn fin, they could have made it like that if I wanted them to. But, I believe the fin got torn in the landing process and I did not it to show that. They do awesome work! bmc
Here's my personal best LMB. I caught it last July in the middle of the day on a Moss Boss. A buddy and I were fishing a little lake north of here in my Otter Stealth boat. I made a long cast into some sparse lily pads. As soon as the Moss Boss got to the outside edge of the pads, all heck broke loose. I thought someone dropped a bowling ball out of a plane! After an awesome battle, I landed this 20.75" hog. Not sure on a weight. My buddy's brother is starting out in taxidermy so I gave him the fish. I caught a 2 lber on the next cast and that was it for the day. longcaster
That is huge! I'm guessing would have easily been the state record with that time of year she would have been bloated as well.
northernsportman
yeah she was really a big one, and we didn't have a camera or anything!! i really wanted to keep her even though it was closed season, but i decided to let her go. i still regret not bringing a camera that day and yes it probably was a state record! if you guys dont believe me thats fine, but i will always know that i am right and had some friends along that also saw it. it just goes to show you that there are some monsters out there still! MSRiverdog
Interesting thing about the river is where you hook it, catch it and get around to the pic it's a long ways, cept with the little fellas.

Stick in Mud
I'm not surprised to hear you caught that mama in the middle of the river...I think a lot of river guys miss the biggest fish in the system because they focus too exclusively on shoreline cover and/or obvious current breaks. Yes, obviously, these places hold fish, but a lot of the times they are littler fish. This, then, is one of the advantages to having a less-than-reliable motor. A buddy and I had an amazing day on the same stretch of river after my motor stalled in the middle of the river. We just threw out the anchor and started casting, and man did we catch a ton of big fish--no rocks around, no current breaks, no nothing. It doesn't always works, but it does more often than not. fishinJohn
I think Matt J. wins. I 've only caught a few SM bass with biggest being 18 inches or so. The great part is I was fishing in the place where I would always fish if I had more luck there. A scenic part of the WI river only a few miles from my parent's house. Seems like I either catch one good fish there or none. Nice fish to all except the guy ripping on the 23; w. t. f. , who cares?
