noticed in the northern pike forum they have a post like this so figured why not start one in the bass forum.

this fish was right around 19 1/2" not the biggest smallie in the world but it was a real nice fish none the less, (sorry for the quality but thats the best my scanner would do)

p.s. my first smallmouth i ever caught when i was about 6 or 7 was about 22 inches 4-5 pounds still trying to beat that one, sorry no picture, dang camera died and my arm was getting sore holding the fish up, haven't had that problem lately \:\(

Great post.. my biggest bronze one I caught when I was 16.... many moons ago... on lake Minnetonka of all places... She went 23" and was 6lbs 9 oz on my normark scale at the time.. I was fishing alone, no pict, or no one to believe the catch... but in my heart I have never caught one like that since, a few pushing 5+, but never in the 6 range again.

I caught it on a tube in 23 feet of water, thought when I first saw it that i had a carp on...

Mine is 21.5" on a gulp nightcrawler from my little like.

My Granddaughter caught this 20" smallie on the last outing in Sept. '07. I was holding this one out a bit so it would be over her, that's why it looks, well, exaggerated \:\)

Awesome fish! I will have to figure out how to get my scanner to work but... my best smallies are two 22"ers. One on Minnetonka and one on Minnewaska. This year I came close though with one that was 21 1/2". I love these fish!

My biggest smallie was on the Pond back on walleye opener of 2000. It was just over 20" and don't have a pic unfortunately. I plan to better that mark this year, and will certainly have the camera on board when I suprass that 20" mark.

Mine is 20.5 inches. I've caught many at 20 inches but cannot seem to hit that 21 inch trophy mark. I think this will be the year! I'm pretty much dedicating this open water season to catching a 21 plus incher to get a repo made.

I know this comes up every time pictures are posted, and it's not my intent to diminish these nice fish, but since I've just returned from a fishing trip, these "sizes" are fresh in my mind. Here's a picture of a Bass my Dad caught last Wednesday. It weighed 7lb 9oz. It is 22.5 inches long.

Now, I can't imagine if that fish in your photo is really 23.25" long, it would weigh 2.25 pounds less than this one. This is why I measure and photograph all my big fish on this board. That's a nice fish regardless.

My biggest largemouth is a 6.5 pounder...one from Waconia and another from a North Metro lake that shall go nameless....my biggest smallmouth was a 23 incher up in the BWCA fishing by myself with no camera...no lie....if only! My other biggest is this 21 incher from the Mississippi River 211_1197.jpg

Amazing big fish folks. That is quite the fat largemouth bearbait. And really great looking smallie write outdoors.

My biggest smallie almost 20"

My biggest smallie on the fly rod an 18incher

My few biggest largemouth pics have some pretty obvious landmarks in them, so I threw in this one which is one of my best a nice 19" (actually one of my biggest largies was through the ice the past year that I posted earlier in the year)

Wow!!! I'd say that's pretty nice... Considering the world record smallie was 27 and a 1/4 and 11 + lbs.... and the average state record fish are in the 23" range for almost all states....... I'd say you might have even had a state recored there.....

OR maybe the measurement might have been a bit off.... Either way nice fish and one I would like to catch...

For the record.... 20 inch smallies from the river average about 4.19 lbs... there are rare occurances of heavier ones, but the data don't lie friends....

Just a few cents worth...

I don't mean to suggest "I have to be right" but really it was.. no kidding... that's why I took a photo with my GPS... the GPS is exactly 6 1/4" long... use your fingers or ruler on the screen and you will see it was at least 23.25. I did measure with a tape but couldn't do that with the camera... I was alone... and that is why I put the GPS in the shot.. I have to guess the digital scale is the one that's off as it never worked right.. I have since replaced it.

Someone go up .... look at my pix... and scrutinize and tell me if it isn't 23+ \:\) Nearly 4 GPS lengths. Anyone with a GPSMAP76 can measure the GPS at over 6"

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
