Hey river rat. I will say he can be over the top but you might want to do a little research into his charity work or the kids clinics or the free promo stuff he does for the sport before you judge. Also there is not one guy out that is not a walking bill board and self promotor, It's there job. I.E. The shirts, boats, trucks etc.

I saw his show "City Limits" and all I know is that Ike dressed like he was trying to either score pionts with the ladies or wanted to pose a an innercity gangster with his flat billed hat, "homie" T-shirt, and some kind of a fluffy braclet thing that athletes wear.

I have read his book. I thought it was a great read and would recommend it to anyone who's curious about whats its like being a professional angler off the water. I personally have nothing against the guy. He gets a little crazy at times, but I like that. I feel he's in the sport for all the right reasons. He has an unbelievable passion for fishing, he can flat out catch fish, and he also has a drive to help the sport grow.

Whether people like his personality or not thats up to them, but I don't see it changing. Besides, whats a sport without a couple goof balls?

Well said, I couldn't have said it better myself \:\)

i have decided that i still don't like a feb. classic. it just eliminates any water north of the mason-dixon line to ever host a classic. no eire, no michigan, no northern mississippi. i think it'll change back some time as the pros are starting to really spread out across the country now. it's not just about the good ole' boys from the south anymore.

It was the pro anglers (and not just the good ol southern boys) that really pushed the change of the Classic date. The motivation behind it is that pro anglers felt with the Classic at the same time each year, it helped those that were best in fishing during that season. There were some anglers that are better spring fisherman, vs. fall, vs. summer. So they wanted to switch it up a little. I don't think it will always stay in Feb. I like that they moved it, but will probably be ready for it to move before it actually does.

I can tell you this, they will go to a location where they are wanted. From what I've seen with MN, the state does NOT want them. They could care less what the event brings in. It just seems odd to me coming from a place where they welcomed tournaments (and the money they bring in) with open arms.

It is going to draw more people to watch if they are catching a bunch of hogs rather than a tourament like KVD won a few years ago where there was not many fish caught and they were small. A bad tournament can happen in the spring to, but it is not quite as likely.

there were some nice weights brought in today. I heard the DNR was very tough on the pros when they were here giving out speeding tickets and other fineson the water, too bad I wish I would have went when they had it on tonka cause I dont think they will ever have another tourny here.

hey, brent haimes got a limit. not bad. looks like alot of guys need a miracle.

i was thinking more of detroit or buffalo hosting a classic. i wonder if lacrosse would have the ability to host? plenty of water, i think the accomodations hold more sway than the waters anymore. i hope it comes out west to the delta before i leave. that would be great.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
