I'm glad you put your bio in Todd! Isabella is a really nice area. My family used to camp around there (I grew up in Two Harbors) but I can't remember the one lake that got deep REALLY quick! We also camped at McDougal Lake up in that neck of the woods. I'm heading back to Burntside myself this year again since I got skunked last time. I gotta get me a laker!

Iceman,

Finland huh? Wow-you guys know how to pick some gorgeous areas to stomp around in!!

Thanks for sharing guys. It's ok to hang out in the Women's forum-we have alot of fun here too! \:D

Just noticed this thread and wanted to help keep it going. My name is Mark Waschek. I live in Apple Valley with my wife of 10 years Mary, and our 3 boys Jacob (6), Jonathan (2), and Matthew (10 weeks). I grew up in Hollywood, MN and graduated from the University of MN with an Ag Economics degree. I've worked my entire career in Ag with the first 15 years doing various roles in the Cenex/Land O Lakes/CHS organizations. Today I'm a partner in a recruiting organization that works with Ag companies throught the US, Canada, and Latin America. I met my wife while working with my previous employer and she is still with Land O' Lakes today.

I lived in River Falls WI for 6 years where I was able to go trout/fly fishing almost every night of the week. Even had a few opportunities to go saltwater flyfishing and really got hooked on Bonefish (hence the name) Then Jacob came along, we moved to Apple Valley, and my flyfishing and fly tying addiction is all but a memory.

However, Jacob is turning into a genuine fishing adddict and is therefore giving me many reasons to get back into fishing on a more regular basis. We spend several weekends and a week on Lake Vermillion, and he is with me in the boat morning, noon and night where we fish for muskys, bass, walleye, and panfish. All he wanted for his birthday was either Lego's or fishing tackle. Jonathan is getting into it as well, and spotted Clifford rod at Gander mountain he wants. In fact, last night they had me page through Musky Hunter magazine as their bedtime story!! What more could a dad ask for!

I know Bonnie very well!!! We sat by each other in the office for a few years. She used to love to hold my oldest when my wife brought him to visit me at work. She's also one of the few people in that company who could match me in smart comments ;\)

My Bio: Barb Morrissett 61 year old broad, married 37 years to Jim (a man with OCD so I deserve a medal). Grew up in Mpls, graduated North High in 64. Hated living in the cities, moved to Ramsey Mn in 76 lived there for 29 years till the building boom. I didn't really start fishing till I moved there, my husband had tried to get me interested, but I was young and dumb. Finally my brother got us going and I was hooked. I caught my first walleye in South Lindstrom lake while crappie fishing - 27" and 7#. I thought it was a bass. Have caught many since but only one bigger (which I lost cause I forgot the net in the truck). Hubby drug me kicking and screaming into ice fishing 10 years ago, again I was hooked. He is now partially disabled and I do most of my fishing alone (nice-lets me do what I want) We transplanted to the Grand Rapids Mn area last year and I love it. This is where I should have grown up!! Newbie to the forums, but I am learning a lot. Thank you to all the people who share their stories and their knowledge.

Hi Barb! Thanks for putting your bio in here! We have a lot of fun chatting about fishing (we TRY to anyway-when not getting skunked blush.gif). It's great seeing another fishin' gal in there and post often and tell us of your adventures! grin.gif

OK, now that I spent about two hours reading this, thought I would post.

Name is Shane Hendricks

Live in St. Paul

Age 37yrs

I grew up in ND and grew up fishing and camping with my Dad. Outdoor love grew in Boyscouts and I got my Eagle Scout. After High School I went on the road with a band until I was about 25, then moved to Omaha and didn't do anything outdoors. While I was on the road we would play up in norther MN and I would always buy a fishing licence for MN as we spent some times here and I would go fishing from the bar till 8 in the morning and then nap till show time.

After Omaha I moved back to Bismarck ND in '97 and got into computers. I got with a company that had me travel a lot. For career reasons I wanted to move to the cities. I came out here in 2000. I met my wife and got married 4 years ago. We couldn't have kids so we adopted a baby girl two years ago and brought her home on Christmas morning (will never top that Christmas). We are currently looking at another adoption and possibley a sibling group. My girls are my main loves.

I love to fish and just got into hunting this year. I can't wait until my girl is old enough to go with me and we are adoption older children so they will be going with as well.

We also have a german Shepard, a beagle and three cats. If you have time look up Chausie, he's the coolest cat I have seen. Plays fetch and walks on a leash.

I came down with Kidney cancern in Sept 06 and had my right kidney removed. Been going OK since then but now came down with costochondritis. It's a weird condition and feels like you are having a heart attach 24/7. They say it will takes months or longer to go away. Hasn't kept me from playing with my baby or fishin' yet though.

I work for Children's Hospitals. I build and inventory all the IT items for the two hospitals in the cities. Been here since I moved out here in 2000. I also work part time for a mortgage/broaker firm so if any of you are interested, look me up. I did some work for the Wildlife Rehab center in Roseville for one summer. Couldn't do it after that because we got our baby and I spent my time with her. I also did Foster Care for 2nd Chance rescue and fostered dogs. After I kept the two we have I decided I better stop cause I was out of room.

Shane, one of our cats (Abbey Road) also fetches. Plus she loves to watch hunting shows with me. It's funny, a commercial comes on and she's gone.

Penny Lane loves to be outside on her leash.

I used to hate cats...till we got one.
