They might be a little over your $100 mark, but i would strongly recomend Baffin. Very high quality, very warm, very comfortable. I don't think they are more expensive in the long run since they last so much longer.

Mickey's. Won't go wrong with them.

That's what my local sport shop told me........and they don't even sell them. They said get the black ones with the valve on the side. Now I'm just waiting for some ice to try them out on.

Check out the sportmans guide!! They have a lot of different boots to choose from, and dirt cheap. I got a pair of 2000 gram boots that have a waterproof breathable menbrane and weigh 34 grams for 50 bucks. And a (Contact Us Please) to the end of the stores name and you will be at there HSOforum.

Mean green, Even the white mickey's boots are good. Had them in the guard, Winter camp -35 out in a tent, no heat my feet stayed warm even if my hands were on the cold side. Many morning we would get up, it's -20's put on the bunnies, only 1pr of socks, in 5 minutes my feet were warm. Most any boot rated for -50 is good, just watch the gor-tex ones smirk.gif some not so great.

I recall reading in a post not long ago that Bata wasn't making bunny/mickey boots any longer so all that is out there is all there is. Snatch up what you can when you find them.

I've got poor circulation to my fingers & toes, so they're always cold except when I'm wearing my bunnies. Now if only I could find a comparable pair of mitts...

I told my dad that I wanted to get a pair of mickey mouse boots for this season. While he was at the ice fishing show he picked up a card for me from a guy who sells them in Wisconsin. If I remember right the going rate for brand new boots from him were $65 for the mickey mouse boots, and $85 for the bunny's. I haven't ordered any yet, but am still considering.

I have an old pair of Ice Mans which have been great, but I am now on about my third set of liners, and it is time to get something new. The nice thing about the mickey mouse or bunny boots is that you don't have a liner to worry about. Everyone who I have ever talked to who own these boots swear they are the wormest boot they have ever owned. The only downfall I personally have heard is that they are a little clumsy for long walks, and the tread could be a little more aggressive.

I agree with Baffin!! I just picked up a pair at Gander (20% off) and used them the other day. Warmest boots I've ever put on. For the first time, my feet were actually WARM sitting on the ice. Not just not cold, but warm! Also, it's like surrounding your feet with pillows, very comfy! I've been a Sorel user for as long as I can remember and my feet have never been this happy.

I should say that I own a pair of Mickey Mouse boots, Sorels, even Mukluks and the Baffin's are by far my favorit. Muks are also very warm, and light, but I feel that they lack support. However, it's fun to watch people's looks when you wear them around the cities grin.gif

Everyone's clearing boots out right now, so now's the perfect time to shop.

I have to agree with the Baffin brand. My wife bought a pair for me at the begining of deer season. The top of the boot is all leather and extends 2/3's of the way up the calf of the leg. Of course this means you tuck your pant leg inside the boot. The boot is too big to allow you to wear your pants outside the boot anyway. At the top there is a cordura nylon cuff that closes with a draw string so no snow or slop ever goes down the top of the boot. Speed lacing on the upper. Bottom is rubber with a very agressive tread. Removable liner is thick with a couple of removable insoles of different insulations to keep the tootsies toasty. No extra socks necessary. I have had Lacrosse iceman boots for almost 20 years and the new Baffin's beat those hands down. Never feel any cold on the feet sitting idle in the deer stand all morning or sitting on the ice for hours. The only thing is they are too warm for long distance walking. All though that's when the tall leather upper and the cuff really shine. Nothing has ever come in over the top. Good boot. I believe I will have this pair for many, many years. cool.gif

Rocky Polar Tracs.

I found them on Cabelas HSOforum this summer on sale for $60. I love them. Waterproof, warm (800 grams Thinsulate I think), and the grip is pretty good too. One thing that has helped keep my feet warm is my boots are just a little bigger than what I normally wear, and for socks I wear just a wicking liner.

I have the LaCross 1200 Slip on insulated rubber boots that run about $100. I have loved them since the minute I put them on. 100% water proof, and my feet have never gotten cold! I Highly recomend these boots to anyone who loves the great outdoors! grin.gif
