What line do you use.

It's Vanish for the walleye rigs, usually 6 lb. Excellent winter line.

For the panfish, I use 2 lb yellow stren. I like the yellow as it makes the bites easy to see against the ice.

Just my 2 cents.

For the pan fish... I run up to 4# Trilene XL, where most of my pan fish set-ups are spooled with the 2# XL.

Walleyes, 4# to 10# XL, depending on where and what type of lure I am fishing...

Pike, I stick to Power Pro... 8/30

I really like the Fireline, i use the 4 LB test for panfish.

and i use the 6 to 10 pound range for Walleye.

I like how it is a smaller diameter. with incredible strength.

I also like how it doesn't stretch. thus IMO much more sensitive. I dead stick alot. So i watch both my rod tip and my line to detect bites.

This year I am using 3lb trilene ice and 4lb cajun ice. I have a feeling I am really going to like that red color this winter as this afternoon i got out for a half hour before dark and it was hard to see the blue line compared to the red cajun ice line.It sure is great to be on hard water again. grin.gif

I have used the cajun for a couple of years now and have really liked it. I just bought the cajun Ice Line and will be putting some on this weekend--I really love the strength of the line. It also hasn't iced up as bad as some of the lines I have used in the past!

No problem schweady.... grin.gif

Panfish: 1#, 2# and 3# Micro Ice

Walleye: Fireline in 8-14# test, Vanish if there spooky

Pike:Fireline in heavier tests.

A little tip for all the Superline users, take a red Sharpie and color the last few feet of line. This way you know when the fish is close to the hole.

Good luck,

Corey Bechtold

2dia. 8lb test Power pro w/ 2-3ft 8lb Vanish line

BHAM! Ya hit the nail on the head with that combo.

I just switched over all my rods to the same combo...I like a hard set and was sick of questioning if the wondering snake or eye that just broke my line was a state record or not wink.gif

Haven't had any troubs with pull'n up the slab crappies and still having fun hitting the top of the canvas doing it.

Great line!
