0 Gus
I use the green and blue plastic X-tools device to cut line. It works great as a line cutter, not so great as a pliers. My finger nail clippers are usually too dull to cut superline. A lot of places that sell x-tools have a spool of super line and a sample tool so you can try cutting it yourself. But they are worthless as pliers.
0 JohnMickish
I use a pair of stainless surgical scissors. Very, very sharp, clean cut.
0 kslipsinker
I use a key ring size Swiss army knife. THe scissors has a serrated edge and cuts any braid clean and quick. I carry one in my boat and one on my key chain. It has to be the real thing, not the cheap ones you see at gas stations at the check out lines. 0 Northlander
Gus I also Have had good luck with the X tools cutter. You are right that the pliers are weak.
0 Steve Foss
If you don't have a sharp blade, be it a pocketknife or some other kind of keen edge, in your tackle box, you're a bonehead. If you DO have any kind of sharp blade there, you'll cut any kind of line there is. Nuff said?
0 DTro
I have plenty of sharp knives in the boat, but have found that it's tough to get a nice clean cut next to the knot because the line is so slippery. Not only that, but a clipper of some sort is much more convienient and will also leave a smaller tag. I have tried good ole fingernail clippers with little success (this is 65lb powerpro).I just wanted to know if there was a special tool or what others used. I think I'll go the route of a smaller side cutter. Thanks
0 Lost
Portable scissors. They work great! They've got those collapsible ones that fold up neatly. I keep them in my tackle box.
