I have bought two lindy grub getters, the little yellow plastic grub containers. Both of them will NOT close. Who would have thought, get two of them in a row and they both wont close. please tell me your experience with them.

I'll have to admit that I jumped on the HYPE on these as well. I attest to the largeNESS of these PILLS. If only the holes were a tad smaller so my little maggies wouldn't fall through all the time!!!

No problems with my shutting and staying shut.

I guess I don't get it. You guys paid $6 for something to hold waxies and euros in?? Why?! LOL!

Gets to a point where a guy has too much junk to haul around to go fishing...especially ice fishing when mobility can be important. And these baits come in a container anyway, so you're telling me you take the time to transer them from the plastic puck to this Lindy Grub Getter...

Also seems like people have a lot of $$$ to spend on stuff these days. You must be the same people who try the "big new fried thingy" at the state fair every year. I just don't get it laugh.gif

Strikemaster sells a "bait puck" on their HSOforum. It's an insulated version of a chew can. Much smaller than the Grub getter. Haven't tried either but if you need something special for your bait, this might be what you're looking for.

I got two of those from Strikemaster for free when they first came out. They are slick. There insulated and they are nice for keeping maggies in the fridge. But I onlu use them cause I buy maggies, and waxies by the 1,000's. By the way Strikemaster is sold out of the bait pucks.

I think the concept is sound but the choice of material was poor.

If the same system was re-made with a more flexable Tuperwear type material it would be far more cold weather and user friendly.

I had 2 and both had problems with the fit of the lid after it got cool. One of them once I opened it...it never did close again..that one really Ticked-Me-Off.

That one had a sudden and terminal reaction to my garage floor after an hour of trying to get it shut. mad.gif

They need work yet.

I understand the logic from a business standpoint, those companies have anglers so gear-hungry that paying six bucks for a waxie holder doesn't phase a lot of people. I'd hafta agree with northlander though, a snuff can works out just fine (until its dark and you end up with a lip full of sawdust and maggots blush.gif)

Thanks for the chuckle today. I just found out about a major screw up at work and I needed to laugh.

Concur. I have a couple of the good clear plastic containers that I keep them in. I thought that the top of a Thill pencil bobber was made to stir up the sawdust and find your meal worms. Would rather put the $6.00 into the Moose Drool fund!!! Have a good one and N joy the Hunt././Jimbo

Most of the plastic products made these days are not good. The main reason is most of the tooling for this and the molding is done over seas to maximize profits for companys that sell these products. There is not much regard for making a qaulity product anymore. It is very hard to find anything that does not say made in china on it.We are all to blame for having the walmart mentality of wanting products for the cheapest price.Sorry to vent on this but we make tooling for lots of products and this stuff is going over seas faster than most people know. Burl.

I bought one too (no mystery why; the idea isn't to carry grubs--it's to make it easier to get to them with cold fingers!). Can't close it. The bottom half seems to be slightly misshapen, so the lid doesn't line up along the back edge. Too bad--I really like the Lindy brand. frown.gif

First of all, I want to apologize to those who have had a bad exerience with the new Lindy Grub Getter. It is a very good product concept and unfortunately, some of the boxes do not close properly. Some of the boxes were taken out of the mold too soon and the shrinkage caused it to warp.

When they do close properly, the Grub Getter is very handy for sorting the sawdust from the grubs and having something to store them in.

Lindy stands behind all of our products. I welcome the opportunity to replace your faulty Grub Getter with one that works. Please call our office at 218-829-1714 to get a replacement.

personally, I really like mine. It closes fine, and is handy for quickly rebaiting if I'm fishing waxies. Most of the time, I fish with spikes, which I keep in a 3M electrical tape container. The nicest thing about the grub getter is that the lid is attached. Much more convenient. Oh, and I'm not a gear sucker, I just think it's a good idea that has a place in my fishing gear. My only beef is that it is pretty big, a little smaller and it would fit much better in your pocket.

Mr.Takasaki

Thank you so much for your post on FishingMinnesota.com.. and welcome to the page. I think its a great step when company leaders like yourself can step up and say a mistake was made and then offer to fix the problem. Bravo!!!

I hope everyone who has one of the faulty products is able to get a new one that work.. I have one that works and I really like it, expecially when digging a grub with cold fingers can be very difficult at times..

I also have a couple of them that work great. For those of you who do not know what they are....The Grub Getter is a carrying/storage case for wax worms or grubs. It has a divider in the middle that has holes in it so that it allows the sawdust or bedding to fall through and keeps the bait in a easy access. Good to see you here Ted!!
