I wouldn't mind having a lever action 30-30 just because everyone should have one. I'd bet a big percentage of us carried one our first time out deer hunting. My grandpa had a Marlin in either .44 or

This might be the next addition to the family. The little lady likes the Kimber Micro 9 Eclipse. No arguments from me, she's always had good taste.

I have a Hi-point 9mm carbine. It's a fun gun to shoot. It goes bang when I pull the trigger. That's about all I was looking for when I bought it. I haven't shot it for a few years now though.

Sure it is.  A high powered pellet rifle is almost a necessity if you can’t be cracking off 22 long rifles around the house. :)

A gun is a gun, I like them all!

This one is BA but a lot more than I personally would spend on an air rifle.....

I like the .30-.30 because of availability and affordability of the ammo but I think the .35 Remington may be a better overall round. I don't know anything about the .45-70 Gov. though.

For an exciting adventure in shooting grab an old "trapdoor" Springfield and rattle off a few rounds of 45-70 or 45-90.  If you're of skinny build and little weight it'll give you a THUMP you'll remember!   Perfect deer cartridge for MN though since that big ol' bullet will go churning through the brush like a D-8 Cat until it hit's it's target.

Have been around the old '94 30-30 since way back when and while it is handy it is not that accurate and lacks the knock-down power of many, many of today's rounds. But if you just have to have one as I always say, it''s your money.

Keep in mind you can buy the .35 Remington in a pump action,   which a lot of MN duck hunters find easy to use come deer season.

You got that right!

My Dad had 2 of them, a Marlin 30-30 and a Winchester model 94 as our main deer guns when I was growing up.  The old 94 was my Grandpa’s and that’s what my brother and I used as our first deer rifle.  I killed a lot of deer with that lead slinger.  

After my Dad passed and we split up his guns, that was the first one I asked for.  I still have it but don’t use it.  I’ve shot it some but have to agree the accuracy isn’t there like my other rifles.  It still holds the highest sentimental value of all though.  Someone can have it when it’s pried from cold, dead hands. :D

When I decided I wanted my own deer rifle I bought a Browning BLR in .308 cuz it was a “modern, accurate” round in a similar framed gun. I still enjoy having that gun too but my oldest daughter has been it’s main user for the past 10 years.  I ALMOST gave it to her for Christmas this year.  Maybe next year... ;)

I would love to buy a few more Winchester M1 Garands from WW2. Awesome rifles with a lot of history. Just got my suppressor for my 22-250 and Ar15 in 223 or 556, now I would like another suppressor, they are awesome. Also looking for another Luger. So many guns now but always looking for more.

My if I had a million bucks guns would be.

Full and Baby Japanese Nimba's & a German Luger.

Before anybody buys an M-1 Garand they should be required to lug it ten miles in the rain and mud and then shoot it twenty times to make sure it's alright. Then tear it apart and clean it thoroughly and then do the whole thing over again. Ha Ha Ha!!

      got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out

      Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!

      we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
