10kC - yeah, that's the feeling I get. Contract complacency got to him.

Sounds like Folin and Brodin may be back tomorrow. Haula is a bit of a longer shot though. Hopefully Spurgeon isn't out too long. This has been a costly week for us! eek

From what I was hearing yesterday, the Wild were more nervous about Brodin's injury than Haula. I can understand them keeping Haula out longer for precautions, but he wasnt showing any concussion symptoms so that is a good sign. Though sometimes those dont show up right away.

Brodin wasnt even able to shoot the puck. If that isnt better I dont know that I want him out there.

Folin and Ballard were out with "illness". What the heck kind of illness did they have? I sure hope it wasnt lateral leg weakness. LOL

They still aren't sure, but he and Ballard both had it along with a few guys from the Blues. It's suspected that it was picked up in AZ as the

Blues played there shortly after we did.

What ever it was, it was nasty. Nasty enough to require IV antibiotics at least. Apparently AZ had their facility professionally cleaned and the Wild had everything sanitized to avoid any more spreading. I assume STL did the same.

St Louis' rink was gone through also. Suter has struggled the last few games also I think. Just not smooth and getting out muscled on the puck more so then I can ever remember. It was nice to see Yoe say that he sat down with Zucker and went over what he was doing right and that moving him to the 2nd line doesn't mean his defensive responsibilities don't matter anymore. His speed can be a game changer and I would hate to see that on a different team. As Yoe says, if we play our game we are tough to beat.

Don't feed the troll.

15-1 Vikings 1998

14-2 Vikings 2000

12-4 Bret Farve led Vikings

$184 million to a guy that would be on the bench on most other teams.

Failing to make any meaningful post season run in this state since 1991.

Sorry I dont share the enthusiasm while the 23 year drought continues. Vikings, Twins, Twolves light years away. Wild the only ones with a chance, but after so many failures I am taking the field. I hope to someday eat the worlds largest plate of crow.

Just saw a replay of Benn's slash on Zucker. I don't know how that doesn't get reviewed by the league. He blatantly two hands Zucker right btween the breezers and the shoulder pads because Zucker picks his pocket. That guy pulls this kind of carp several times a year and for some reason there are never any consequences.

Buck, no one in the hockey forum wants to play your games. This thread is for THIS SEASON. If you want to talk about THIS SEASON then post away but otherwise everyone would appreciate you starting another one.

My first post specifically dealt with THIS season. Then I am ridiculed and called a troll for my beliefs and my skepticism. Being a MN sports fan the glass is always have empty until proven otherwise.

With that said I think they should have fired Yeo last year and got a real coach in here. He is the main reason they will choke again this year. More than enough talent assembled to win it all.

Yes, I sent out 1 pm to a FMer that I thought I was having some friendly banter with, and even included an obscure utube video thinking he would pick up the fact that I was pulling his chain, but apparently not. It was only intended to be a joke between me/her/it.

You mean this one? Nice attempt at backpeddling. I'll tell you what Buck, every time you post something dumb I'm going to quote it with that screenshot. If you actually want to talk hockey in a civilized manner I have no problem with that.

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
