Muck Boots supports HSUS

Check into it again. They just posted on their social media that it was a mis-type. They were collecting personal donations and sending them to Humane Association of NW Rhode Island.

Exerp from Muck Boot Company:

"We would like to respond to our loyal customers and provide additional information about recent posts on social media regarding a monetary donation to a local animal care organization. Our post inaccurately stated that a donation was made to The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). Moreover, the post itself was inappropriate under the circumstances.

Family members of an employee who recently passed away requested that, in lieu of flowers, co-workers donate funds to the Humane Association of Northwestern Rhode Island, a local association founded in 1978 to solve community issues primarily related to stray cats. They are not affiliated with HSUS as the posts incorrectly stated.

The money is not a corporate donation, but a collection of personal contributions from employees with the intent of remembering a beloved co-worker. While our intentions were good, the use of corporate social channels under these circumstances was inappropriate.

Muck Boots has a heritage of respect for the outdoors and for nature. We apologize for the anger and confusion the posts have caused and have removed them from our social channels."

I saw their back-pedaling retraction. While their new story sounds very plausible, the original picture and FB post has been saved and shared all over and there is little confusion about the intent of their original post.

Also there are multiple other posts from them that also link to the HSUS.

If they want public support back they are gonna have to spend some big $$ to real organizations that support the outdoors.

I'm guessing it was some unaware member of the marketing team that either misunderstood what the event was about or incorrectly tagged the post with the HSUS instead of the correct group.

It just doesn't add up that a company selling products to hunters would support a group like that and then throw it in the face of their customers.

But in the end it doesn't matter, the damage is done and I'm guessing their social media person is filing for unemployment already.

My guess is they outsource their social media efforts and whoever put the post together thought it would be good to tie the brand to the humane treatment of animals. After all, the Humane Society sounds nice and warm/fuzzy. They apparently had no idea about the controversy surrounding HSUS or how it would alienate Muck's customer base.

The strangest part was seeing follow-up posts that were just standard Facebook fodder, while every comment was ripping the company a new one...

If you live your life by not buying products from companies that have direct or indirect views different from yours you will be living in the woods trying to make your own things...not saying I support Muck and their decision to donate to who ever but I sure won't let this prevent me from buying their boots.

I draw the line at supporting companies who promote hunting products with on hand, and turn around and give money to organizations single handedly trying to destroy our way of life.

If it was a mistake, then that's a shame. But there are too many loose ends to believe their retractions.

I hear ya Tyler and I understand what your saying...the thing is I am sure you support or buy many products that the company that makes them or profits off you uses the money in one shape or form in things you don't agree with or believe in i.e. funding towards a political party opposite of yours. It is horrible for a hunting boot company to support organizations that oppose hunting and in all honesty why would they bite the hand that feeds them? If they did support an anti hunting organization and the organization ultimaley suceeded in their cause (no hunting) then what would that leave Muck with? NO BUSINESS or $$$$$ and I don't think they would want that...

I'll give them a pass on this one. The story seems plausible collecting donations in lieu of flowers, etc. They aren't going to choose where that money is going to go, that's up to the family.

It was a mistake tagging the wrong organization, but I can see that one too. Half of these social media gurus are 23 year old kids who don't know a pig pen from pig iron. The HSUS comes up as a suggestion and they're thinking "yup, that must be the one" click-click-click.

I just cant believe it was anything intentional by a knowing person in the company.

I don't have any of their boots, but I wont avoid them in the future based on this snafu.

    • Luxury RV camping has become increasingly popular in recent years as people look for ways to enjoy the great outdoors while still enjoying the comforts of home. With the right equipment and preparation, luxury RV camping can be a truly unforgettable experience. In this essay, we will provide you with the ultimate guide to luxury RV camping, including tips on choosing the right RV, selecting the best campsite, and packing for your trip.   The first step to planning a luxury RV camping trip is to choose the right RV. There are a variety of different types of RVs available, ranging from small and compact trailers to large and luxurious motorhomes. The right RV for you will depend on your budget, your travel plans, and your personal preferences.   One popular option for luxury RV camping is a Class A motorhome. These motorhomes are typically the largest and most luxurious RVs available, with spacious interiors, full kitchens, and even multiple bathrooms. They often come equipped with high-end features such as leather upholstery, flat-screen televisions, and high-quality audio systems. Class A motorhomes are also the most expensive type of RV, but they offer the ultimate in comfort and luxury.   Another popular option for luxury RV camping is a fifth wheel trailer. These trailers are typically larger than travel trailers and are designed to be towed by a pickup truck. They offer many of the same amenities as Class A motorhomes, including full kitchens, multiple bathrooms, and high-end features such as surround sound systems and flat-screen televisions. Fifth wheel trailers are often less expensive than Class A motorhomes but still offer a high level of comfort and luxury.   Once you have chosen the right RV for your luxury camping trip, the next step is to select the perfect campsite. There are a variety of different types of campsites available, ranging from basic, no-frills campsites to high-end RV resorts with all the amenities. When selecting a campsite, it is important to consider your budget, your travel plans, and your personal preferences.   If you are looking for a truly luxurious camping experience, consider staying at an RV resort. These resorts often offer a wide range of amenities, including swimming pools, hot tubs, fitness centers, and even golf courses. They also typically offer high-end services such as concierge service, valet parking, and room service. RV resorts can be expensive, but they offer the ultimate in luxury and comfort.   If you are looking for a more affordable camping experience, consider staying at a state or national park. These parks offer a variety of different campsites, ranging from basic tent sites to RV sites with electrical and water hookups. While state and national parks may not offer the same level of luxury as RV resorts, they do offer the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the outdoors.     Once you have chosen the perfect RV and campsite, the final step is to pack for your luxury camping trip. When packing for a luxury RV camping trip, it is important to focus on comfort and convenience. Pack clothing that is appropriate for the weather and activities you have planned, as well as comfortable shoes for hiking and exploring.   In addition to clothing, it is important to pack all the essentials you will need for your trip. This includes bedding, towels, toiletries, and any medications or other personal items you may need. It is also important to pack food and drinks, as well as any cooking supplies you will need for meals. If you are camping in the cold weather, bring the Ocoopa Union 5s rechargeable hand warmers are easy to use for camping. First, charge it, then turn it on, and finally, place it in your gloves or pockets. Additionally, the rechargeable hand warmer has 4 heat settings, allowing you to adjust the temperature to various weather conditions. With a large 10000mAh battery, it can provide up to 15 hours of heat and could use as a power bank, making it an ideal hand warmer for extended outdoor activities.   Finally, when packing for your luxury RV camping trip, don’t forget to pack entertainment options such as books, movies, and games. While luxury camping offers many opportunities for relaxation and outdoor activities, it is also important to have options for downtime and relaxation.
