Smashing Suspended Walleyes on Rattle Baits (VIDEO)

Uncut Angling

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I have had an account on this forum since I started Ice Fishing more than a decade ago, it is cool to see things still alive and strong. We (UncutAngling) make videos to specifically entertain and educate fisher people...and hopefully wrangle up some new angler blood to the sport as well. We film mainly in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, but have trips planned this year beyond, including Minnesota & Wisconsin. Our viewership is based around the MidWest and we are going to make an effort to be involved in the Canada forum here, as well as answer questions on our videos as we release them.

This is our latest video from this past week. It was filmed on the Red River North, which has a reputation for sluggish action in midwinter, and has taken a backseat attention-wise by destination anglers to Lake Winnipeg. This is for good reason mostly, as "the Lake" provides more consistent days, but the river can never be overlooked as a trophy hunt. The average size of bites on the river is much larger, and it is a better (safer) option for the storm days that make Lake Winnipeg a scary place.

Being mindful of suspended fish, and quickly chasing them with the use of good electronics, is a pattern that can be duplicated on many other water bodies. BIG walleyes, especially, love to get high off the bottom. This can be absolutely any depth in rivers, and often, the depth they suspend in lakes will correspond with the "top-out" depth of a nearby structure or shallow flat on a lake.

Awesome video. This rocks.

Anybody who wants to see some slob lakers and an impersonation of Al Linder that will blow your mind, check out some of their other videos on their YouTube channel.

Aaron,

I'm a major fan of yours! Favorite episode by far was the episode where you were flagging people down from the side of the road... that episode was awesome. Your show provides a breath of fresh air for televised angling. It's entertaining and educational! Glad to see you on here bud and would absolutely love to hit the water sometime.
