Genofish
Has anyone come up with a way to prevent the jars from leaking? I found that if you dont remove the foil, just punch a small hole in the center to remove the bait will prevent most of the leaking but not all of it.Not sure if there is another type of spill prove container to use. Thanks,, Merry Xmas
neptune
I just pour mine into a rubbermaid container that has a seal. Plano also makes several sizes that probably work well. Plano

MikeG3Boat
x3 Plano works great no leaks at all!
fsnrod
You talking about that little 2 inch jar for panfish bait?
BoxMN
I just tighten em down gutentite! and it seems to work pretty well. When I just did them sortoftite they would leak. I try to keep them upright as well as I can as backup
Pat K
It use an empty peanut butter jar. They seal much better than the gulp containers.
CAMAN
For the cost you pay for the stuff it sure would be nice if Berkley put them into a jar that actually sealed properly.

Right on.As for a fix, I use empty jelly jars but any liquid jar from your fridge will do. No need to spend money on one.
bee
I think its by design. That way they sell more.
Grum
I think its by design. That way they sell more. +1) The first one leaked, the second ones lid was actually cracked (was glad I noticed before I broke the seal.) If I ever get another I'll have a spare container ready. JeremyCampbell
This recent batch seems to be fine.Once in a while I get a bad one too
Savage Brewer
I use the Plano Liqua Bait containers.and I agree, it is stupid that with as expansive that stuff is that they cant put it in a halfway decent container.
sightfisher
I'll need to check out the Plano containers. For the 'panfish' size jars I just keep them all in a big zip-lock; otherwise everything has that smell and coating. Here I thought I was the only one that did not know how to properly tighten a lid. I will confirm that leaving the foil on does help with the seal.
stick
Does the juice stain or discolor boat carpet?
Rick G
Keep them in their original containers and put the containers in zip lock bags. Nothing worse than having a jar of the minnow fry in your pocket and having it leak
Genofish
I have cracked a few by tighten to hard, a zip lock is what I have beenusing lately to keep from making a mess
Sherman
I use those orange twist off pill/medicine bottles. I put enough of what I need in and fill the juices up to level with the product. I don't over fill it and keep the rest until it gets low. Put inside ziplock bag and keep it up right.
jepik
I use the bait pucks..and zip lock bag.. mix them all together, fry minnow heads,etc..
Mr. Sheephead
Funny you mention the jars leaking. I sent a letter to berkley gulp about that same problem. That was a month ago. No response. I am going to send it again. I want some answers. Great stuff but a big problem with leaking. I put them in a uncle josh pork frog container with a metal lid. It works without leaking but the juice erodes that metal lid and creates a weird black gunk under the rim of the lid. The original jar tipped over in my wifes car on a hot summer day. It was not good.

danwilliams
I put 2 or 3 wraps of teflon tape on jar threads. Has worked well for me for several years summer and winter.
hydro
Does the juice stain or discolor boat carpet? Not sure about permanent staining as I have not tried to clean it up yet, but it sure does discolor and mess up carpet.
jdsmi
Small Baby food jar works great. $.89 at the grocery store. Better yet, if you have a baby in the house, the jar is a free by-product.
