CrewJones
Well with the walleye/pike season closed (down here) this is when I take stock of my equipment. After switching from the Jiffy to the Strikemaster everyone said I would break the plastic handles on my auger. Well 2 years later and there still great, but I did crack some of the pull cord handle, I can fix that.Lost on 25$ reel/ pole setup due to stepping on itmelted a hole in my phazer piston leaned out somehow.... carbs...1 slush scoop using it as a chisel to knock ice off the auger 1 minnow bucket. My back moving the dam 1000cc Pantera (solving problem by selling) NO holes or tears in my portable though :!!!Not a horrible year, nothing down the hole and I never had to see if my arctic armor floats
Blackhawkxp
I had to fix the rope on my auger and dam near burnt down my portable last Thursday. I didn't quite have the hose fitting tight on the big buddy and you should have seen the instant fire ball. Funny now but wasn't at the time. Fortunately i didn't even singe my eyebrows like i normally due on the gas grill when it doesn't lite. Other than that it has been a good year. paceman
My son dropped a rod/reel down the hole but I as able to recover it with a camera and a big treble hook. I burned a hole in my ice-armor jacket. Bumped a muffle on the auger. That made me mad.....
dan z
The only thing that broke for me was a front left tooth due to fishing in very windy conditions. The front bar on the portable bit me after taking it down. Lemme tellya it hurt don't do it!
CAMAN
My dad broke his hip falling out of a bunk...does that count?
Lip_Ripper Guy
Deer ran into side of truck on Christmas. Took out drivers side front and rear doors and the box. Last weekend my fish house got side swiped by a garbage truck on the way up north. Some dents and scratches in a 1'x2' area. Didn't even know it happened. Generator created it's own puddle and fell in. Broke a rod tip on Saturday. Given the first 3, I wasn't even mad
Redlineracer12
I broke a rod tip (fixed it with some glue), a shovel, and broke the recoil rope on a Lazermag (ended up having to replace the whole recoil assembly). Not a bad year at all. Had to replace the starter on the F150 in the Baudette Motel parking lot (-5 degrees out of course), but I'm not sure that's fishing related. harvey lee
Mr Heater took a dump on mr and burnt a big hole in my insulated Canvas Craft. Not too bad to rerpair. Called Canvas Craft and they sent me the sized piece I needed and I took the cover of and my wife sewed it up like brand new.Only other thing I hurt or damaged was my shoulder when I fell on the ice at Cool Cats. Thing is still sore but about 75% healed. Doc said give it 2 months or so and it should be all healed like as good as new or close.
leech~~
Had the wire holding tube on a brand new sled trailer break loose and cut the wires, had to drive all the way back from LOW dodging the Hwy Patrol with no lights! Drilled into the bottom and trashed a set of auger blades and just yesterday bent my front ski on one side of my sled when loading her up on the back of the trailer because of not enough snow to ramp it. And of course the usual $25 bucks of lost lures here and there! But, I caught a few fish and didn't freeze to death out in the middle of no where, so it was a good year! MaxGoldman
Had a reel fall apart for seemingly no reason, but that was a quick fix. Had problems with our buddy heater, a fart could have activated the tip over safety shutoff on that thing. Ended up bypassing that so now the shutoff won't be an issue, I don't think it's necessary anyway at least for me.Besides those minor issues been a great year! mmk8283
Recoil broke on the auger, dropped a scoop down the hole, smashed a slush bucket. And while pulling my fishhouse home last night by buddy rearended it. So what do I win? haha.
OnAFly
My left knee, but that was playing hockey I suppose I broke my recoil rope too, but that cost nothing to fix. The auger is starting to act up, but hopefully it will make it through the season so I can run through it before packing it up for the summer. NCLaker
First time out with my SM Solo, I hit something frozen in the ice ... wrecked my blades - ticked me off spending $40 for a new set after just one outing Found out that even non-oxy new gas after just a few weeks can cause your 4-stroke SM auger to start like dump. Figured something was up when even my snowblower was starting rough with the same gas. replaced with fresh non-oxy and stared up like a champ. I figure that it must have been older gas from the gas station to begin with.

Eric_Kruger
dislocated my right knee a few weeks back....but that was bowling. Other than that "knock on wood" I havent broken anything this year. My LX7 is acting up but Ive known that it had a programming issue since December, just havent had time to run it up to Versa to get fixed.
CaptainMusky
Broke my custom tom's noodle in my rod slick. I knew better, but it in the rod slick, then put it in my rod case, but it must have folded over inside and broke about an inch off the end of the rod.Now I have to have the tip put back on and possibly remove the first eyelet. Not a catastrophe, but really bummed.Pulled that bad boy out on LOW a couple weeks ago, really excited to use it and discovered the tip broke. Grrr. otterman91105
Well i think this is the first year that i didn't break anything. Every other year it seems like something always break no matter how well you take care of things.
picksbigwagon
I twisted in a really cold one pound tank into my small buddy heater (tank top model) only tonhave the propane leak out and have propane pour out of the canister and onto my choppers and pants. Being thick headed, I tried it again and had success until I decided to hit the ignitor. Wooooosh big ol fire ball, in an older otter one man with my 10 year old sitting next to me. I opened the door to the ice house and flung it across 30 yards of Mille lacs ice. t was then I noticed the choppers and jeans were on fire so I quickly put them out. My son sitting right next to me was wide eyeed to say the least. I asked him if he was okay and he said yep, he asked if I was and I said we might have to go back to the cabin to change y underwear. He thought I was kidding60 dollar heater, melted. Still have my eyebrows and my son has a greater respect for propane and propane accesories
Rick G
Had a tire blow out the side wall on the wheelhouse, lost a phone down the hole, several snaped rods, droped my back up hand held gps and broke it, one digital camera lost somewhere on Mille Lacs. Not too bad considering how many days I am on the ice in a given winter.

icefisker
Sounds like the liquor sales must have been pretty decent around the state though!!!
that_guy
No kidding! This thread is shocking at how much stuff actually breaks in a given year. I can honestly say I haven't broken anything in 12yrs of ice fishing except for line, and a few hooks.
