Jim Almquist
If you are in the Cloquet area B&B has New York strips for $4.99. Very tasty and if you get there at there right time they will cut to order. I bought a few extra small ones that I have ground up to make some steak burgers. Picked up some Texas toast that will be buttered up with just a hint of garlic and toasted on both sides
eyeguy 54
coborns does that when the stuff they have out is getting to the fresh date. hockeybc69
I have never run into the Coborns specials here in Big Lake. I should hide a few packs of ribs under a pile of chicken breasts then go in and snag em up at the discount when the sell by date is closing in. Leaky
On Saturday mornings at the Coburns in Mora, they also put out the meat that is getting out of date. Usually packages of chicken, steaks, pork chops, sausages ect. They are usually about 1/2 price and a great deal if you can get them right to the freezer when you get home. I like to get there early. DonBo
After not finding them in North St Paul or Oakdale, I scored in Stillwater last night. Thanks for the tip, these are gonna fit nicely in my smoker this weekend.
nofishfisherman
Sadly I only bought one. I don't have the room in my freezer right now to store any more than that. I need grilling season to get here in a hurry so I can start applying a flame to some of my stockpile of venison, steaks, chicken, etc... ishy
nofishfisherman, It's always grilling season. :)I grill/smoke more in the winter than I do in the summer.. It is a lot more fun (no bugs) and easier (smoking) at least for me to maintain temps.. I do a lot in the summer just seem to be a bit more busy.. I really enjoy the winter months for that.. KEN W
It's always easier to run the smoker in the spring, winter, and fall if you have an electric smoker. The outside temps are cold enough to make the element stay on most of the time. Thus producing smoke. In summer's hot temps the element doesn't come on as often.....no smoke.
