LMITOUT
Its time for Nascar to throw these clowns out of the sport for a while. They don't respect anyone or anything and these slaps on the wrist aren't getting through to their M&M sized brains. If you haven't heard the latest Busch shining moment, there was a video posted showing Kurt belittling Dr. Jerry Punch of ESPN on Sunday as they waited to do an interview. Rude doesn't even come close to describing his actions to a well respected media member that has been involved in the sport for decades. This happened after Kurt flipped someone off as he was driving into the garage.A few months ago Kurt had to be restrained from another media member in the media center because he was making physical gestures at the reporter. The sponsors are obviously tired of it as witnessed with Mars pulling their paint scheme from Candyland and today Kurt's crew chief (Kyle's previous crew chief) left Penske, most likely tired of the constant verbal abuse dished out by both of them. I wouldn't be surprised if some of Kurt's sponsors pull the plug too after this. It is time for them to go.
CAMAN
Its kinda crazy, if that had happened in any other sport there would be serious fines and/or suspensions for actions detrimental to the sport. But NASCAR doesn't seem to give a rip, and I'm sure if Dr. Punch went to NASCAR with his complaints he'd be considered the whiner and crybaby. Hopefully this video is enough to get NASCAR to lay the smack down.
fishinchicks
I was always taught that when you are representing your company (sponsors or owners for these guys), you put your personal feelings aside and conduct yourself in a manner that brings respect to you and who you are representing. Looks like they either weren't taught how to act, or they just don't care. Unfortunately, I think it is the latter. If I were a sponsor, I would be highly offended by the actions in the garage and on camera. That wouldn't be the image I want associated with my company. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some serious sponsorship issues coming for both of them.
harvey lee
I would highly dount that Kyle would get Mars back. They pulled the paint scheme for the last few but I can not understand why they would go back when there are others who would treat Mars better. Wonder what Gibbs will do with Kyle?Kurt, I thought he was getting better but he is back to his arrogant ways.NASCAR will not throw them out as they believe they bring more fans to the sport with the controversy. gregg52
not defending those 2 but i would guess some of those reporters would have heard similiar things as they stick that mic if front of guys as soon as they can and then ask the MOST stupidest questions i can remember kyle petty grabing the mic outa some one hands he did refain from swearing but you could see the frustration in my opinion they could cut out some of these pre race shows or least limit them to a 1/2 hr or so and get rid of guys like rutlge wood...hammond and few otherssometimes i wonder if the ole man was still around would even talk to a [PoorWordUsage] like r wood
harvey lee
I believe the difference is the ol man would simply have kept right on walking.I agree that the drivers at times get tired of the TV and radio people and press. But when one has millions coming in from sponsors, I am sure the sponsors like all that garbage and the sponsors do pay the bills. HOF#13
Boy...the Busch brother's sure have some real egos. What a couple of disrespectful, arrogant, punks. I thought maybe Kurt had grown up, but he was way out of line quite a few times this season. And Kyle...all the driving talent in the world, except that he can't keep his head in check.I can't believe sponsors want anything to do with either of these guys. After apology after apology, you would think that "sorry" wouldn't cut it anymore.
gregg52
But when one has millions coming in from sponsors, I am sure the sponsors like all that garbage and the sponsors do pay the bills. ya kinda of shame that the sponsers have so much say
fishing tech
Couple of spoiled brats. I don't think I have ever seen any of their family at the races. Except their trophy wifes/girlfriends. And i am sure if the money stopped coming in those women would move on to a differant money tree.
LMITOUT
ya kinda of shame that the sponsers have so much say If it weren't for sponsors there wouldn't be NASCAR and the Busch brothers would be bagging groceries.
harvey lee
If they were bagging groceries, some older lady would slap them both.

SledNeck
I like when people say what's on their mind. The worst thing to listen to is someone like Carl Edwards that sounds like he's reading off a Rated G TelePrompTer.
NAMASafetyDirector
Pretty disrespectfull video clip. Just goes to show the "real" KB. His brother is no different. The sport is NOT better because they are in it. After a certain amount of time people don't buy tickets just to see what they will do next. Johnny Cash said it best when he met his future son in law the first time..."Remember, I havent known you long enough to miss you if you were gone"..! Words those two goofballs should start living by.
PurpleFloyd
The sponsors are the ones who will dictate whether they continue to race or not. I wonder how proud their parents are of how they act? If it was my children out there acting like that they would get a bit of fatherly love so to say. PurpleFloyd
Quote:CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — NASCAR fined Kurt Busch $50,000 on Friday for his poor behavior during the Sprint Cup finale last weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.NASCAR cited both an obscene gesture Busch made inside his car and him being verbally abusive to a reporter in fining the 2004 Cup champion."Kurt Busch showed disrespect toward a media member, an incident that followed similar inappropriate media confrontations earlier in the season," NASCAR said in a statement announcing the penalty. Double D
"He was fined for disrespecting a member of the media"Dr. Punch in my opinion is THE member of the media. Not too many better reporters, I think.Go ahead, tick those guys off, see if you can get your face on camera when you WANT to get it on camera.DD
CAMAN
$50,000 is not enough IMO, that's pennies for the guy...$500,000 would make more of a lasting impression.
GatorBait
His ego is a bit too big for his shoulders. Money and Fame, that's all that is. Glad the Dr choose to axe the interview. Class act there.
fishing tech
I agree, If the media stops interviewing these 2 so their sponsors aren't getting free air time the sponsor money may get less and less.
Wanderer
I wonder what my bosses would say if I handled myself that way in a PR situation on a bad day. Maybe I should get that straightened out with them first...Nah, never mind.
lawdog
looks like Kurt needs another visit from Jimmy Spencer! There is no hope for Kyle...
mainbutter
And this is why NASCAR is looked down on by many people in this country.. a bunch of uneducated, mean, rednecks with no respect for anyone or anything doesn't earn new viewers nationwide.
