Wow, I would never have guesed that high. Picture must not do it justice.

I have an almost perfect 10 with almost no deductions and almost the exact spread that was scored at 144. Tines are much higher yet only scores a few more points.

Must be a difference in how scorers score racks.

Not saying your deer is not that large, just don't understand the difference in scoring.

I hear you Harvey. I never thought he would be that either. I was thinking right around the 130-135 range at the top end. Buddy who scored it has done it many times and won't [PoorWordUsage] the tape any, so I take it for what its worth. Of course, he isn't an "official" scorer, so for what its worth. Score isn't really important to me, he is a great deer and thats what makes me happy. Plus, he is filling my freezer with meat!!!

I saw this too late. I would have said very close to 140 for sure. I have one very similar that's 18" wide even that is right about 140 as well. Mass is harder to tell in pics, but he looks reasonably heavy. Very nice deer for sure. Good job Bret.

Its amazing what the G4's will bring. My brother shot a very nice 9 pointer, but it only had 1 G4 and it was only an inch long. Aside from that, very similar in mass and spread. His only grossed 129 when I measured it. I guess I can see 10 more inches from the G4's

Musky, how long were the main beams? I shot a decent 8 pointer that scored 117 last weekend. Similar spread at about 18. My 8's tines appear to be longer but the two additional points on the frame I'm sure kick up the score dramatically. At first I was thinking somewhere in the 130's but depending on main beam length, mass, and the length of the g-4's I'd buy that it was a 140 incher. Congrats!

The main beams on him were 22 3/8 on the right and 21 7/8 on the left.

Nice buck musky and I agree a picture can be hard to judge a score. I would have guessed high 120's but it just goes to show the difficulty from a picture. Shooting it on public land makes it even more impressive to me which I believe you mentioned you did.
