SledNeck
Just when you thought the play calling couldnt get any worse than Childress....... in comes Joe Webb....
Snag
It's going to be a tough few years. Except for Peterson and Harvin and maybe the punter, the team has no studs. Hutchinson, Williams, Allen, Winfield, Henderson are all on the decline. McNabb looked just like he did in Washington. No accuracy and no arm strength any more. Both lines are bad. Dylan33
That game was nothing to hang your head over I can't tell if you are being serious or not, sarcasm is sometimes tough to gauge on a message board. -We had 39 yards passing. 2 yards in the second half. Yes, that is right. 2 yards. -Harvin runs a kick back for a TD-- then doesn't play another special teams play the rest of the game.-AP had almost 100 yards. half of it came on one run, so he was pretty ineffective all day.- 10 point halftime lead- blown = terrible adjustments by our coaches. - Missed tackles all over the field. (can someone tell these guys you can't tackle by just diving at someone with your shoulders)- Can someone please cover Tolbert? (on a side note, did anyone else find it strange that an athelete named Tolbert did somethig well?)I'm hanging my head a bit today. Especially since my wife is a Packer fan, and my best friend is a Bears fan.
reinhard1
i didn't see the game today for i was fishing. the passing yardage the vike's had just blew me away. i could not believe that when i heard it. what was the main cause of this? McNabbs poor play, offensive line gave no protection, or dropped passes or what. good luck.
Dylan33
RH1-It was a combo of all of it wrapped together. The offense as a whole was terrible.

SkunkedAgain
I can't tell if you are being serious or not, sarcasm is sometimes tough to gauge on a message board. Hey I'm a Packer fan but still was not being sarcastic. Maybe it's all based on expectations. If as a Viking fan, you truly expected to go into San Diego and beat a good Chargers team with a new Viking coaching staff, scheme, and QB....you're a little optimistic. If you go from the opposite perspective, they didn't have a great chance of winning at all. However, AP is going to have a big year and he flashed it early. The O-line looked better than I expected, Harvin went the distance, and the D-line held up. Sure there were lots of things that were ugly at the same time, but from an outsider's perspective (and I've followed the Vikings closely for decades) they weren't terrible. They could have been much better but also could have been much worse. Heck, I'm even going to the game next week against TB and I'm looking forward to it! Dylan33
I absolutely expected the Vikings to lose. I thought we would lose by 10 points. But judging the team's performance by saying things like "we didn't lose that bad" is silly. We had a chance to win, which is even more frustrating. I know i will be in the minority here, but I'd rather get beat from start to finish and be dominated in all aspects of the game and get blown out than play like we did and lose by a little bit. I am harder on the Vikings than the typical purple cool aid drinker, but I saw almost NOTHING to get excited about. It looked like Childress was calling the plays again. That being said, I am still excited to watch them, and won't miss a minute of any game this year. SKOL VIKINGS!!
leech~~
It hurts to be a vikings fan! About as much as McNabb's bones do today! Poor old guy!
Born2Fish
One good thing that we can look at from that game...Even though the offense played pretty horrible, minus AP, we STILL were in that game the whole time. And against a team that everyone thinks will do great this year. I think the defense played well. But when you are on the field for as long as they were, your gonna get tired and wear down eventually. They kept em in the game the whole time. But our offense couldn't stay on the field long enough to give them any breaks. Sure will be nice to get Williams back after Tampa.

mnviking28
The defense played well for a half. I don't remember a punt in the second half. There was a field goal, and the INT by Allen. Other than that, they marched up and down the field. Chris Cook and Tyrell Johnson looked awful. The interior defensive linemen were not any better. Three offsides penalties in the last 4 minutes are simply inexcusable. Those are not getting beat, those are mental mistakes. I have seen better tackling in a middle school game. There was no wrapping up of anyone. Put a shoulder into them and bounce off. It happened almost every play in the second half. Once we did get a stop on Allen's INT, which was a very athletic play I must say, we try to get cute with Joe Webb? That truly was a case of cranial rectal inversion that would have done Childress and Les Steckel proud. There needed to be a statement made to put that game away. Forty more yards and even a field goal, and I think that they could have pulled it out. It was as frustrated as I have been watching the Vikings in quite a while. They may as well just come out and "take a knee" as Denny would say.
SkunkedAgain
....errrr, alright. There is definitely a dominance of glass-is-half-empty thinking in this state. Enjoy your season folks!
Born2Fish
The reason the defense played good for one half, was that the offense couldn't keep them off the field for the second half and they wore down. You give an offense like the Chargers that much time of possession and ANY defense is going to wear down.
