Updated: MISSING FRIEND

Recommended Posts

On Wednesday July 20th 2011 at approximatly 7:30am my dear friend Kristofor "Kicker" Shannon turned off his phone and has not been seen or heard from since. He was from Zimmerman, MN and was to be at a jobsite at 7:00am on Wednesday and never showed. He talked to a few people and sent a text at 7:22 to his girlfriend and mother of his two girls (ages 10-7) and then shut off all communications and ability to figure out where he is and what he could be doing or thinking.

He was driving a 2006 Chevy Silverado Z71 white regular cab truck with a topper that is white with the logo of Wall II Wall Painting on the side of the topper. He had about 6-10 ladders on the topper. The license plate is TBH-764.

I have a flyer with a picture of him and what his truck looks like if anyone is willing to hang it up in their business. All we can do at this time is put the word out as the only thing the police can do is keep an eye out for his vehicle.

Please keep an eye out for him and keep him and his family in your thoughts.

If you have any information please contact the Sherburne County Sheriffs Department at 763-241-2500.

Thanks,

David Ostmoe (ozzie)

Here is the flyer ozzie has provided, along with a description of the vehicle and more info.

If interested in a printable flyer in PDF format, PM (in my stuff area above) ozzie and he will get one to you. If you are from the area, sure doesn't hurt to print out a copy or two and hang one at work if allowed and stick one at the gas staion on the way home. smile

Good luck to Kicker's friends and family. Everyone here at HSO is hoping for the best outcome possible and we are willing help in anyway we can. smile

Unfortunatley there have been no updates or leads to his where abouts since the day he left. The only real update was that we aquired his last cell phone location accurate to like 6 miles and that was 7/20/2011 at 7:20 am and that came from a cell phone tower west of Princeton, MN off hwy 95 and cty rd 6. This is a spot that is right around the land we hunted together but searching the area by helicopter and going out to the deer stands didn't provide us with anything. There is a post in the Brainerd forum that has a little more info.......Please keep your eyes open and him and his family in your thoughts and if you have any follow up questions please ask and I will answer them the best I can.

Thanks,

David Ostmoe aka ozzie

Yeah and the radio did run a thing on him in St. Cloud and the papers in Elk River and Princeton ran articles on it. It was also on a few news websites I beleive but other than that I know most stations were contacted.

no foul play is suspected he could have just ran and tried to start a new life cause anything is possible. I don't think he could harm another person but who really knows as I didn't think he could just up and walk away from his life.......The only weapon that was missing from his guns was his muzzleloader.

And they never found his vehicle yet? That is strange that the vehicle wouldn't be found on a gravel road or wherever.

Thanks for the updates - I am heading up through Elk River, Princeton, Mille Lacs and Brainerd so I will keep an eye out for a vehicle like his.

nope they have found nothing of his.......and the truck was loaded with ladders and is white with a white topper that says Wall II Wall Painting.....there are 2 other trucks that look like his that are part of the company but his was the only one that would always have 4-10 ladders on it...Thanks for keeping an eye open!!

Well thank you to everyone that has kept an eye open and kept him in your thoughts. Kicker was found, passed away, last night 8/17/2011 in a remote abandoned property in the Royalton, MN area. This is not how we wanted to find him but it does give his family and friends much needed closure.

I also want to put it out there to everyone.....life is not easy and we all go through hard times but in those tough times we need to lean on our support groups, friends, family, or anyone that you can talk to that will listen even if it is a stranger. We need to be able to let our guard down and show vulnarability in our selves to let our thoughts out before they consume you. I have battled depression for a good chunk of my life and I know at a certain point in life I could have been in the same ending that my friend did. The only difference is that I was able to express my feelings and let people know what was clouding my mind. Please let your friends, family, and people you care about know that you are there for them and that they have a friend to talk to if they ever need it.

I thank you all for help and support you have givin through this hard time.

Take care,

David Ostmoe aka ozzie

Sorry for your loss Ozzie, and for your buddy's family. Hopefully somebody out there, who knows who it might be, will learn something from this and your words when hard times hit, and will have a better outcome.

You showed yourself as a good, caring friend with a level head through this.

Really sorry to hear this is how it turned out. You had some very wise things to say about needing a support system. We all need someone close to talk to when times get tough.

Prayers to family/friends.

I have always thought that every person has their breaking point. It seems some people get dropped, or let themselves drop from a higher distance, which makes it much harder to catch them on the way down as a friend or an onlooker. My thoughts go out to this tragic loss. frown
