How Many Tackle Boxes Do You Have??

motley man

Question

How many tackle boxes do you have for fishing? I have 5 summer boxes, 1 for Muskies, 1 with everything that always goes with the boat, 1 for the back of the truck for those roadside times, 1 for misc lures & parts, reels, etc. and my old canvas river 1 shoulder purse. Yes, I said purse that I got out of free box at garage sale. 3 winter boxes, 1 in both permanent houses and my backpack on ice bag with poles & reels. Approx: dollar amount for all $2000.00 so they go under lock & key always. I never leave them anywhere without someone watching them, this means boat launches, resorts, anywhere. Just thought it would be interesting to see how much STUFF we all collect.

What are you my wife? I have 1 but its very very BIG. I call it my garage. grin

As Miller said I probably have too many but just enough to get me by. I have about 500 stick baits alone so that will give you a idea how many. I never counted.

This right here.

But Northlander has me by two or three stick baits. In spoons... I'll bet it's close. grin

Ya moosehunter I only have about 300 spoons. wink

Sticks, cranks, pencil sticks etc. etc. etc. I have way too many to count. When I find a hot bait I buy all I can so the next guy cant use them against me in a tourney. wink

I have 3 special mates full and could fill at least 3 more with what I have in Planos boxes. Im slowing down now because all the cranks being made now arent as good as the old ones and the new Rapalas and other brands are way over priced.

I had never thought about this question before. I've gone all modular with the plano boxes. I'd say I've got 15 of them with cranks, spoons, jigs, plastics, etc. I also have the ice gear as well, but I've got that down to 3 planos; panfish, walleye, terminal tackle. I also have bag for lake trout. Then there is the steelhead, fly boxes, Musky and a box I take to Alaska.

3 years ago I was asked to do a seminar for a youth group who were interested in fishing. I went through my tackle and put everything I hadn't had my hands on in the last 5 years and made grab bags for the kids. I liquidated 50% of what I had. I haven't missed any of it ( forgot I had most of it anyway) Since then have resisted buying the latest and greatest unless I see it work first hand . Now I just restock what really works.

Down Deep, I first read your post as "I made a grab bag for the kids..." and had a Simpsons/ Family Guy image of little kids with multiple trebles hanging out of each hand, and some maniac encouraging the next kid to go ahead and stick his hand in too. I think maybe I should start drinking coffee...

9 boxes! Main tackle box, Rapala box which contains 150+ Rapala's, Jig box with plastics, Main ice fishing box, Panfish box for open water, 2 Panfish boxes for ice fishing and two fly fishing boxes!

If were to keep all my tackle in one box, it would have to be put in one of those storage bins! blush

One two tray plano, I think it is from the 70's, garage sale special, but.... I'm mainly a live bait walleye fisherman, jigs, bare hooks, and spinner material, some floats and a few raps and spoons
