we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted March 4, 2011 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted March 4, 2011 The Minnesota Vikings brought an end to the QB Tarvaris Jackson experiment by not extending a qualifying tender offer to him, reports Judd Zulgad and Chip Scoggins, of The Minneapolis Star Tribune. Jackson, as previously reported, is now a free agent and free to sign with any other team that he chooses. Jackson was believed to be the team's quarterback of the future after being drafted in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft, but it never developed as the team would have hoped. He started a career-high 12 games in 2007, but was replaced early in the 2008 season and then spent most of the last two years backing up QB Brett Favre. Jackson noted earlier this year that a change of scenery and a fresh start might be what he needs.

10,000 Casts
just another piece of the Chili puzzle that needed to go.. it will still be fun to watch where he goes and see if his "fresh start" benefits him..
zepman
I wish him good luck...he always seemed like a really nice guy who was just put in a no-win situation by a jack-hole of a coach.I hope he can stay in the league for another 5-7 years and make a good career out of being a back-up. greebs
Really an ideal situation foor him. Holds a clipboard most of career with little chance for injury and makes good money doing that. I could handle a job like that.
soldoncass
I'm available to take over his duties.....not good enough to play, but I could do the dress-up and clipboard thing.
croixflats
I'm available to take over his duties.....not good enough to play, but I could do the dress-up and clipboard thing. I'll up the ante. For that kind of money I'll throw in gum chewer, air penciling or doodling and the occasional tackling dummy for the punter.
Ufatz
Well, it took long enough but my long standing prediction came true: somebody looked around and realized they were carrying somebody as erratic as Charley Sheen on a bad day and shipped him down the road.Frankly, I always told my pals that TJ had SOMETHING really bad on Chilly and that was the only reason he kept sitting there.Ziggy wasted a lot of money. Considering you've been a Junkston backer since day one.
mrklean
only if chilly was still coach, then he would have signed him to a long term deal
soldoncass
Actually I think I have this figured out.....Flynn is a FA, T.J. can sign over there, and "lead the green and gold team when Rogers gets another concussion (he had 2 last year, and they have a cumulative effect). Always happy to assist neighbors.
mrklean
HA they have to want him to sign him and im pretty sure the green and gold aren't dumb enough to fall for that
soldoncass
lol....Every team has done moves that defied logic at one time or another. WHEN Rogers gets another concussion, and has to retire, they will need a QB with experience to step right in......

zepman
They have flynn for another year, i think they will re-sign him after next year to Doubt it. Flynn will want to sign with someone who'll give him a chance to start. Packers have very little chance of resigning him.
soldoncass
I thought I saw Flynn on the FA list, but maybe it was on the possible trade list. Better get T.J. ASAP...
