BRULEDRIFTER
He's getting the boot from Tennessee! So is he too big of a head case to pick up as our stop gap while we develop a rookie? Could be a diamond in the rough if he can be slapped back to reality and plays up to his potential! At this point, I'm in the 'Anyone but McNabb PLEASE' camp! And if they even consider Favre if he pulls his sheeeyat again, I'm done!

zamboni
Lets see......Years in the league and a very, very, very small handfull of games where he wasn't either injured or BENCHED for bad play. Yep- lets sign him ASAP!!!
BRULEDRIFTER
coming from someone who hates everything and anything Minnesota, one would think you'd be all about it....Or, maybe you're saying that because he'd be the next success story like Vick and you're scared? LMITOUT
I want you guys to succeed. I truly do.
vman11
I don't like the idea either. In my opinion, VY is not your definition of a pure pocket passer, and when it comes to statistics and winning Super Bowls, that is what I believe you need. Michael Vick is a specimen and thats why it works for him, but good teams have a qb that is paid to throw only (Manning, Brady, Rivers, Ryan etc). The Vikes have a pretty good runner. They just need somebody to sit back, read defenses and throw the ball. Kind of like half of the teams out there without a franchise QB. LMITOUT
BTW, what is this ridiculous fascination with a running QB? Name one that has succeeded? Zip, zilch, nada. Gimmie a pocket passer any day and you'll have a much greater chance of winning it all.
mrklean
drama queen favre to drama queen jr vince young fits the vikes pretty good i think if they want to stay in the headlines on ESPN and yahoo sports
zamboni
Brule, read the very first line of your first post in this thread. There's a reason.

There has been some decent scramblers, that occasionally run (Elway, Steve Young) but for the most part, you are right. Cunningham did zilch til he got here and became a pocket passer. BRULEDRIFTER
I never proclaimed that I wanted him, I just put it out there for conversation. However, the kid has skills. He's had a wacky career, but the right situation can do numbers for a person. I guess I'd rather see him than Mcnabb. We'll see what happens with the kid. He's still young and can be groomed with the right coaching. I guess that's the only part that attracts me. You know he's gonna want a fresh slate, have a chip on his shoulder and have something to prove. He'd be a cheap pick up I'd assume and it's not like we have to go all in on him. Sign him for a few years with some clauses thrown in so we can keep him or dump him easily (kinda like Wash did with Mcnabb).
Scott K
I would also prefer him over Mcnabb, but I am afraid, Mcnabb will be our QB for the next 3 years.
FISHINGURU
I'd rather chew on glass then have Vince Young be our QB. That dude is a bigger clown then Junkson.
TR21HP
Great skills and with the right system unfortunately defines about 80% of the players drafted each year in the NFL. Every kid has skills and unrealized potential and is a great athlete otherwise you wouldn't be drafted. It's the player that understands the game and fulfills his potential that makes a difference on a team. If you watched the high school all american game last night there were more athletes who play football than football players who are great athletes out there. A handful stood out and you could tell they understood the game by how they played with solid fundamentals and being in the right place at the right time. Kudos to those coaches that are teaching these kids how to play football and not a sandlot game.
walleyes12
If we want a running qb, I would rather develope Webb
ozzie
I agree with walleyes12...why go with a known headcase when you have a kid like Webb here that is the same type of player??
Surface Tension
In order to have a good pocket passer you need to keep the pocket from collapsing.
Scott K
In order to have a good pocket passer you need to keep the pocket from collapsing. My thoughts exactly!
Dave S
In order to have a good pocket passer you need to keep the pocket from collapsing. Exactly a reason why a mobile QB like Webb would be the answer if the Vikes don't fix the front line.
pike doctor
Vince Young= puke in my mouth!Just like Jamarcus Russell. The guy is too stupid to get it done in the NFL. He cant get by on shear talent anymore. Didnt Vince Young fail the Wonderlich Test? This guy is just another reason why I would stay away from a loser like Scam Newton in the draft. Check out young's record as a starter. I have no interest in him as the vikings' qb, but to say he's too stupid to get it done in the NFL is just incorrect. bucketmouth64
No way I would want Young. Frazier doesn't need a head case his first year coaching or to baby sit the guy off the field. Rather have Orton or Hill here.

Not exactly rocket scientist material, more like street car conductor.
