It is going to be Kolb ( who deserves to have a starting job and knows it) that will want out of philly, not Reid trying to get rid of him. Kolb is smart enough to realize he will ride the pine behind Vick and knows he is better than a 2nd stringer.

As far as giving up a first rounder for him, it makes a lot of sense. Why wouldn't a team want a starting caliber QB for their first round pick instead of taking a gamble and drafting one. Anyone that pays any attention to football does not have to be told that a vast majority of QB's that are drafted, make nothing of themselves. Therefore, it would take a lot of guesswork out of the equation and we would get someone that would help us next year (which we need) and would not need to be developed.

Giving up a first rounder for kolb is ridiculous!! Have you watched him play at all???? He's worth a 3rd round pick at best. He might be serviceable as a starter but no way in heck is he worth a first rounder. LMAO!!!

As far as your bolded statement. Look around the league and tell me where the quarterbacks are coming from. They are getting drafted by one team and staying there. You rarely see a "good" quarterback change teams. You draft your franchise quarterback you don't pluck him from another team.

True, most quarterbacks do stay with the team they are drafted, but I cannot recall another time when a MVP caliber QB comes out of nowhere to step in front of the young franchise QB like what happened in Philadelphia. This is a time when the Vikings could "pluck" a franchise QB from another team, although, it will not come for free. I am just saying the Vikes should go for the sure thing instead of drafting a "hopeful".

As far as Kolbs' play

He started 2 games in 2009 and he completed 64% of his passes for 741 yards, 4 touchdowns and 3 interceptions

He started 4 games this year (had significant time in 3) and completed 63% of his passes for 1,035 yards 6 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

He is averaging over 300 yards and 2 touchdowns per game. That is not bad from a QB. He does have some interceptions but every young QB does. So yes, I have watched him play, I have also looked at the stats and he looks a little more than "serviceable."

Back to jared. ?Is it easier to get a sack if your up by 20 or down by 20. Their is your answer to Allens season.

that's a good way of looking at it. kind of like cuddyer getting all his big hits when the twins are already up 8 - 2. too bad allen can't get it done when they really need him and he's being single teamed but had no problem commenting about the qback not getting it done a few games ago.

Brees would never have been traded had SD not picked Rivers. Of course they wouldn't have picked Rivers if Eli hadn't been a puke and pouted his way out of SD.

Culter wouldn't have been traded except for his coach.

Both were traded away under "strange" circumstances.

I'll give you Schaub and Cassel. Although Cassel wouldn't have seen the light of day ever if Brady didn't get hurt.

I know it can happen but the majority of the upper tier are raised at home so to speak.

Let's see the Pack trades Rogers to the Titans for Moss and the Vikings trade Allen to the Packers for Moss and a 1rst round draft pick from Titans -or a future trade from to be named later. The later draft pick is then traded with Br. Farv. to the Redskins for McNabb.,--Who then goe's to the Titans for Young and the Coach

The 2nd round pick of 2015 is than traded to get Chilldres, Green, Tice, and------- To coach in 2011. With a default payement for a new stadium in 2012. grin

I would trade favre, AP, and my left nut for Rodgers....and as far as mcnugget goes, I almost cried when I heard they benched him, we have a history of picking up old, washed up, and interception prone Qbs...i know mcnabb has a low interception rate but still. 3rd JA is the man. Has he had as good as season as the last? No. Should we trade him H NO! Mckinney looks like an alzheimers patient lost at the mall, where am I? why is this guy pushing me?!? 4th? Dog-beating aside why in God's name did we not try for vick? I want a Qb, im not asking him to babysit, or watch my dogs on vacation!!!! 5-19 Childress!! Thank God he's gone

Dan Diego was going to pick Eli Manning but he boycotted and forced the trade to New York. So they would have certainly picked someone. The reason they let him go is he had a shoulder procedure and they gambled that he might not be the same QB after that.

I am not sure what you are getting to with the rest of the post. Yes, it is usually a strange situation that sends a great player to another team but it happens. We ended up with Jared Allen due to such a circumstance and we similarly lost Moss due to a strange situation.

The Top Seven Defensive Ends in the NFL Coming into the '10 Season

Some would say that I am picking Allen because he is becoming sort of a celebrity, but I have never really been one of those guys who follows suit with the popularity contest.

All I need to back up my pick is...well...in six seasons, he has had 72 sacks. The last THREE seasons he has had a total of 44 sacks. The years went as follows:

15.5 sacks

14.5 sacks

14.5 sacks

Now, if those are not worthy of being at the helm of the No. 1 spot, then I have no idea what is.

Along with all of the sacks, he has also been one of the best defensive ends for tackling. He has had seasons with 77, 64, and 55 tackles, with a nice solo:assisted ratio as well.

He seems to get a large number of forced fumbles as well with 21 over the past five seasons.

Overall, it's very easy for me to say he's the best in the NFL today.

62 tackles (54 solo), four forced fumbles, one interception, and lastly 15.5 sacks.
