pike doctor
I wouldnt have it in for him so bad, but he is always running his big mouth. In tonights game the goat-ropper did the least amount of the 4 DE that started the game. Here are the stats. Israel Idonije 4 tackles, 1 sack, one forced fumbleJulius Peppers 5 tackles, 1 INT, 2 pass deflectionsRay Edwards 4 tackles, 1 sackDonkey Allen 3 tackles (and one they didnt even block him)Once again they ran the ball right down his throat, and blocked him one-on-one with some no name tackle. He is an embarrasment to the team. I hope he goes with Tjunk when he leaves.
harvey lee
Sad part is he will make a great player on another team if they ship him out but I highly doubt that. The Vikes have some serious issues to correct before next season. The whole team is in disarray.
winterwalleye
Get rid of McKinnie he is terrible. He is only good at helping Farve off the ground after he misses his block.

Stcloudangler
Then the only way to go is up. At this point, lose them all, shoot for a top 5 pick and get Cam Newton.
bisonthunder
Cam Newton will not be a QB in the NFL... he will be a wide out. We need a pocket passer QB (Luck or Mallett) if we ever want to dream of winning a superbowl... ie (Brady, Manning, Dilfer, etc.)JA had a bad year on a bad team... i expect better next year... FISHINGURU
LMMFAO, Jared Allen is one of the best DE's the Vikings will ever have. Your logic is whack, only reason you think he's so bad is because normally he is so good. He makes Gay Edwards look like a clown.
The_Diesel
I'm a die-hard Packer fan, and normally root against any and everything to do with the Vikings. However, I happen to like Jared Allen. This year he wasn't his normal self, but he is a dominating force that needs to be managed from an offensive point-of-view. But even more than his performances on the football field I like him because of his personality. He seems very laid-back, easy going type of guy. Loves to be outdoors and always has fun no matter what he's doing or how the game is going. Seems more of a gentleman than some other 'stars' in the NFL today. And I like AP too. He seems to have fixed his fumbling problems and is a consistent force to be watched whenever he is in the backfield. The Vikes do have some key elements in place, but they need to build off of them. A legit QB for one. I believe Greenway is in his last year on his contract too, it will interesting to see if they try to keep him. Work on that O-line to protect whatever QB they get, too - or else they won't have a QB very long.
pikestabber
And of the four DE's mentioned, how many get double-teamed like JA? NONE. Even Peppers had one on ones all night, and he was going against the biggest joke of a LT in the NFL when he lined up on the right side... Get rid of McKinnie! thatoneguy
I have Vick, Maclin and Jackson on my fantasy football team. What a treat to have them going against an incompetent Vikings defense in championship week! I won't start counting the cash yet...I'll wait til Philly's up 28-0. Early in the second quarter. The season is (obviously) lost. Vikes might as well lose and get better draft position. Ryan Mallett, here we come! Just like Tim Tebow won't be a QB, or Vince Young, or....Luck will be gone with the number one, Mallett is a coinflip... not big arm strength. Anyone who has seen Cam play knows he has all the tools, and reports I have heard is he has a good head on his shoulders, well spoken, smart. I think he will be a beast in the NFL, see Culpepper before the knee blew out.

TR21HP
Any average quarterback like Culpepper would have been great with the supporting cast he had. If you watched Tebow on Sunday you would have seen that the things he got away with in college he couldn't do in the pros - he's too slow and the NFL is too fast. Vince Young isn't playing presently. Do we want to mention Demarcus Russell as well. You have running backs on offense to run, quarterbacks to pass - it's that simple. Of course you have the exception in Michael Vick but even he missed games this year while running the ball. The pro game is completely different than the college game and until the college coaches start preparing their quarterbacks for the pros instead of selecting the best athlete and having him run half the game the mediocrity of NFL quarterbacks will continue. SkunkedAgain
I'd always rather take two QBs in the second round than one in the 1st. At least you have better odds at one of the two panning out.
foulpole18
Good head on his shoulders? I guess if getting a school to pay you to play there qualifies he does. Cam Newton will not be a NFL QB for long.
creepworm
Here's what I think the Vikes should do for a QB. Trade their first round pick to Philly for Kolb and a late round pick. Kolb will be a solid NFL QB, in the lines of a Tony Romo. In my opinion it would be better to not chance it in the draft on a QB that may not work out. Maybe, maybe not, but I definitely agree with trading for a QB who has proven he can play, but not one who is over the hill. We may have to give up our 1st round pick and then some, but we have talent on this team right now that may not be here in three years (when a rookie has adjusted to playing at this level...if he works out at all). I would be all for a Kolb trade.

koonie
NO WAY would any team trade a first rounder for Kolb. Injury prone and inexperienced. Andy Reid is the best in the league at working with quarterbacks and if he's willing to give up on Kolb I wouldn't touch him.
vman11
Back to Jared Allen - to me, he looks WAY light compared to last season. Might have something to do with him getting dominated.
