mr_jman
NO WAY the Vikings are 1 - 5 for week 7. My God this team isn't that bad and they still will dominate their home games this season! They lost 14 - 9 against the Super Bowl Champs... with a depleted team... on the road.... How bad do you think the Vikes really are.....? Lets talk in January..... I won't deny Green Bay may take the division this year, but the Vikings are still one of the top teams in the league AND WILL BE IN THE PLAYOFFS THIS SEASON AGAIN! zepman
I see the bars just closed huh, Shiner...You can talk all the smack you want once the Pack dethrones the Vikes as NFC North champs...until then, have another beer!!
zamboni
OK, I was at work tonite- did the Saints get their rings tonite? If they did, thats pouring some salt in the wounds and something that could wait til the Vikes left town.
BlueLundFishrman
vikes still got some work to do.
Scott M
Wow, I come back the next morning and look at the trolls! It's a petting zoo down here! Who put the quarter in your slots Foss and Shinedog? LMIT I'd expect, even DC...I guess the Packer fans are still sore from last year! MNice
I got real bored and went to bed in the third. I like to watch a game to be entertained, even if we would have won, it wasn't entertaining.
DTro
No kidding! OMG what a SNOOZEFEST. ZZZZZZZZIt's obvious that the Saints put the better team on the field last night. The vikes really missed their injured players. They will rebound though.I hope McKinnie gets needled all year long for being carted off the field for a finger injury. Are you kidding me?? reinhard1
i'm not an expert at football but this is what i saw. farve should not miss training camp [i supported him not being there]. i think he admitted he was tired in the second half. where was camarillo in the 1st half? i know he is new but has better hands than some out there. peterson played well. defense played well in general. something tells me not having a backup quarterback will sink the season. farve will get better as the season goes on, but if he goes down we are done. good luck. Born2Fish
I am very surprised that Camarillo did not play as much as he should have. He may be new, but he has great hands and deserves to be out there. I wonder why Berrian is even out there. Dropped a punt, dropped passes....Need I say any more about him. Shiancoe is gonna have a good year. I can see him getting a LOT of passes thrown to him. We FOR SURE miss Rice. I honestly think the Vikes need to get something put together for a WR while rice is injured. Harvin looks kinda clueless out there, and like I said earlier, Berrian is Berrian. Our defense was the ONLY reason we were in that game. That first touchdown made me say, "Great here we go" but after that they buckled down. I also agree that they got tired in the end and let Thomas run on them. I think we need our corners back(which hopefully will be soon). Asher got burnt on a few plays and I think he is not what we need at corner right now. But overall the Vikings DID lose. So not a good start to the season. I feel them coming back strong for week 2 and beating the Dolphins at home.

RiverFish
Here's the plan to stop the Vikes till you get a WR. 8 in the box, and double Shianco.Berrrian is awful, he needs to be cut.
solbes
Berrian did not play like he was supposed to be the best receiver in purple. Shiancoe was our obvious bright spot, but it's easy to stop one guy with some adjustments. Camarillo should have been a target all game since Berrian can't seem to get open. I heard from lots of people here that Rice's absence will be okay, but so far that does not appear to be the case. Maybe Harvin/#4 will get it together soon.I don't know what happened to Pat Williams, but he just seemed about 5 years older out there. His linemates were equally disappointing. It was one of the most frustrating things I've seen as a Vikes fan: Thomas for 4, Thomas for 5, Thomas for 4...Favre looked shaky and made some bad decisions. AP looked good at times, but how many times can you run the ball on 1st down in a row? Mix it up a little. I liked the swing pass to him, but they never went back to it. I miss Chester already a little.Toughest game in our schedule is out of the way, but it was a winnable game. Gotta get our hands dirty starting in practice this week. Sky is not falling, but we have our work cut out for us.
gr8icefishinmind
Favre looked flat out old and dis-interested!! Where was the fire from last year from that team???
goblueM
Vikes sure couldn't figure out that counter running play the Saints kept throwing them. Wash the big boys down then cut back and follow the fullbackWhere was Camarillo all game? Why didn't the ball get fed to Peterson in the 2nd half? Apart from the obviously bad chemistry between Favre and the WRs, this loss is chalked up to poor coaching
FISHINGURU
I thought you lost. The road is always a hostile environment. How is that doing well? Yeah we lost, I think most people thought we would lose, but most thought we were gonna get dominated in a big way. The road is not always a hostile environment, there's road games where the fans are out of the game. Like I said we didn't have our #1 WR, and we didn't have our #2 and #3 corner against a high flying team that puts up big points and they could only score 14 on us at home in their stadium when they are the Super Bowl Chumps. I'd be more worried if I was an Aints fan, Farve is coming straight off the tractor, Percy hasn't been on the field, we just got Camarillo and didn't even play him until mid 3rd quarter, We are missing 2 of our starting 3 CB's and they can only win by 5 LMMFAO. If my team was the Aints and put up a performance like that against a team that is that injured and hasn't even practiced together I wouldn't be very happy. Shack
I thought it was a good game. Pretty predictable IMO and nothing out of the ordinary for the Vike's and the CB4 Saint's. Let's make some tuna out of those Dolphins next week in the inflatable poncho we refer to as our stadium. Go Vike's!
Nick Kuhn
Defense played well, holding the NFL's highest scoring offense to 14 (with some help from NO's kicker, why couldn't he have missed last year). The problem I have is with the lack of second half adjustments and the ultra conservative play calling. The Saints brought a safety down to cover Shiancoe, meaning there was a lot of single high safety played by the Saints. In a first game of the year, with a team that normally plays with 2 safeties back, and the one safety being pretty young, there were going to be some blown coverages if the Vikings tried to stretch the field. It doesn't matter if you are missing your best play makers, anyone can catch the ball on a blown coverage. A big play or even the threat of a big play would have done wonders for the short pass and run games. But we are stuck with Childress' poor play calling. Nate McVey
Were you happy when the Queens SQUEAKED by the 49ers and Ravens at the last second last year? Those were two weak teams and you BARELY won at home.........Bottom line, Queens looked like that was a preseason game last night........... Cooter
So who won last night? I was busy watching an Oprah show marathon. Fun game to watch, bout time regular season got here. I would never have guessed the final score. Quite impressed the Queens hung in there like they did - I was hoping they'd get clobbered. No, I'm never happy when we barely win, I'll take a lucky win just like anyone else but I wouldn't be stoked if we were the Super Bowl Champs at home on opening night going against a team without their #1 WR and their #2 and #3 CB's and could barely win.If the Vikes were the Champs at home and the Aints came to town without Colston, Greer, and their 3rd corner, I wouldn't be very happy if we could barely win and looked like turds. Without that opening drive that took us by surprise they looked bad, I bet in the Dome it would of been a different story, then the Aints would of looked really bad.All you can say is BOO DAT!! archerystud
I think the passing game looked weak as expected. I didn't think our passing game was that good early last year either until Favre and the receivers got their timing down. I think the passing game will be fine in a couple of weeks and better once Rice is back.As already mentioned my dissappointments were both running games in the second half. The lack of ours and the effectiveness of the Saints. I agree that our great nose tackles seemed to get moved around too easily. Hopefully they and Frazier can make some adjustments as teams will obviously be trying that again in the future.
Danube D
The offense was a total wreck, but if the D gets the ball to Favre with 2 minutes left....IMO they win. The guy seems to have a record of that.
