Biggest 5 fish Limit in Tournament?

What is the biggest 5 fish limit weighed on a certified scale that anyone has heard of? I think I may have witnessed the best today.. While I only managed a 10.5lb bag which got me 6th I think? Scott Peterson, Fishing alone, brought in a 26.13lb bag on Green lake in Chisago. Smallest fish he had was probably 4.5lbs.. it was unreal..

I have heard of a few 25lb bags from Tonka, and a few 24 from Waconia. but I have never heard of a 26lb 5 fish bag..

SO.. Anyone? whats the biggest you have heard about?

There's going to be doubters, and I don't blame them.

August 16th 2005, I had "one of those days". Now this was using a Berkley digital scale, so take that into consideration. But I caught 7 fish that day, the bottom two went 3.2 & 3.6 lbs.

The top five:

5.7

5.2

4.7

4.6

4.4

24.6

The kicker of the day? The last fish I had on would have probably been in the 5 to 5.5 lb range, but after getting in all those other big bass in quickly, I decided to play her out. I lost it leaning over to get it. It would have culled out the bottom fish for a 25 lb. bag, and I might of caught a mythical take home bag of 6/30 lbs.

I knew it was extremely rare, I even started a thread on HSO inquiring if anybody had out of the ordinary luck for big fish on that day. I fish enough to know I'll probably never equal it. In fact I've only maybe caught another half dozen 5+ lbers since that day.

Fire away guys, but it happened. Sorta stinks knowing my best ever day bass fishing is behind me. smile

Moynagh weighed 25 at the Shelby when he won.

Some Canadians had a bag of smallies that went over 30lbs for five fish not sure where might have been simco?

Had some buddies that where prefishing for Sturgeon bay this yr and got in a small deal, they had 2nd with 29lbs for 5 they had a 7.2 in their bag

Ive seen 30+ on a couple occasions, but NOT in MN. Santee Cooper, South Carolina in the spring.

Heck ive never weighed in a 20lb bag in a tourney in MN. Pre fishing? Yes and it was on Green in Chisago.

Deitz, Just curious what happened to you, Thats your neck of the woods right?

Not dissin ya believe me. I had a rough day today as well and i wasnt in a tourney thank godness.

Dang that is a big load!!!! thought I was having a good day when I pulled in just over 20lbs, and was happier than a pig in ....., I guess you chalk that up to right place right time cause it don't happen very often atleast not in these parts.

Out of curiousity if your able to share what type of pattern produced a bag like that? You dont have to get into specifics maybe just things like deep, shallow, finesse, power, ect... we had some tourneys this weekend and it was tough fishing all around, lots of guys didnt even weight in limits.

Biggest I seen weighed was 21.5lbs 5 fish

Now thats frustrating to hear. We were there for a tourney about 3 weeks ago and for 7 boats the biggest bag was just over 11 lbs. Something must of changed. I'm as curious as Graigums, throw us a bone on how you fished it.

Some days you win, most you loose.. today I lost. Well not last, but you know what I mean.. I caught a lot of fish, just maybe didnt make the right adjustments. in truth, I am not that good a fisherman probably.

The same group of us had an event last wed, and it only took 11lbs to win, and Scott, the guy who won yesterday didnt even get a bite last wed. Blanked... I got 2nd on wed with just a hair under 11lbs.

That's definitely the biggest i've heard of. just outta curiousity, what's the biggest known 5 fish stringer in a tourney anywhere in the country? I imagine some of those tourneys can get pretty ridiculous when they find the pigs on their beds in some of those lakes

I think the largest BASS record was like 34 something. In Fla, seams it was Dean Rohas. Seams like another was close on Santee Cooper Woo Daves if im not mistaken

Deitz yeah i know how it goes. Im usually in tourneys on the day it didnt work. On a good note i got 2 right at 5 lbs this morning
