Old thread was getting long, seems like a good time to create a new thread dedicated to this year. My first 2 of the season, a fat toad 45 and a 40.

Way too go Esox, It is just amazing how fat Iowa fish are. I wish I was taking my boat next week, when I am down visiting family. I'm itch'n to get out.

Man, that gets the blood pumping. I had a 52 incher on for about 25 minutes tuesday night. 6 pound line with a jig and shiner right in the corner of the mouth. It was a piggy thats for sure!!!

Thats a great fish, we have a group of about 18 boats heading down there this week.

Any GPS loc. would be appreciated so we can cut the unproductive water out.

My usual fishing buddy's little brother caught this one today on a rattle trap. It's funny and awesome because he's been going on and on about how he's so pumped up for muskie opener and to get his first muskie and then today he lands this fish on regular gear.

Good to get the monkey off your back either way and there'll definitely be more fish to come from this little guy as the season goes on. He can throw double 10's with the best of them and is a more competent fisherman than a few of the people i have had the "privelege" of sharing my boat with.

I was surprised when I set the hook. Figured I had 40 walleyes on one hook. Amazing there is muskies there with all the "walleye" guys killing em off!!haha
