mrklean
Listening to a few guys at work today they think we need to trade AP. The points they made actually made sense, last night he was dropping the ball again, so on that final drive where they needed to just hold onto the ball and gain a few yards who was in the Taylor not AP. They couldnt trust AP enough to put him in there at then end of the game. When you cant trust the star of your team is he really a star? Yea he had 3 TDs and 130 yards but does that mean anything when you drop the ball in the red zone and lose out on points? Being a Packer fan i dont really have an opinion on this but wanted to see what some of you vike fans had to say about that.
Jmnhunter
hes a young player, i believe he'll be able to work on his handling skills, i think it would be too early to s-can him!
Shack
Ya, look at the pluses we got from trading Randy Moss after a season (or two) of slowness He kicked but and got a SB ring. AP has not even been arrested or as far as I can tell had an attitude issue like Moss. I wish Moss stilled played with the Vikes. Keep AP IMO and hope he wants to play and stay with the Vikes! RumRiverRat
They need to cut him.He is absolute garbage.
catchphoto_filet
hes young to the nfl and still has lots to work on. His upside is much larger than the downside. he will get better learn to tuck the ball away and he wont have many faults.
rayguy
Forgot about his 110mph speeding ticket boys. I doubt they will trade him. Must be a pain for his teamates to work there butts off only to have him turn it over. There is a old story about Ray Berry. When he was a rookie Unitis hit him with a perfect pass that should of gone for a td. Well Berry fumbuled on the run and lost the ball. Next huddle Johnny U said to him, drop another and I will never throw to you again. Berry never fumb uled the rest of his career. Maybe our big tackles need to have a little chat with Mr. Peterson. JBMasterAngler
Randy Moss does not have a super bowl ring.
LOTWSvirgin
Moss has no ring. And hopefully never will
greebs
moss is a quitter and will never lead a team to a sb ring. I'll keep Rice. back to AP, I don't think you trade him yet. way too much upside to give up and his problems are from trying too hard, unlike moss who's problems are from not trying enough
hector00
His value has dropped a little now so we should be able to keep his at a cheaper contract when his rookie one is up. I wouldnt get rid of him yet he is still one of the best running backs in the game.
Shack
Yep you guys are right. The Pats lost the SB in 07. Randy did still have a good year. 1200+ is nothing to snoot at. It is no 1600+ like in 03, but still good for an old guy.
Coach1310
Maybe I'm a little too loyal, but the idea of trading AP is laughable in my opinion... there are about 5 guys in the league with the explosiveness and playmaking ability of AP.. if even 5.... He had a tough game in the biggest game of the year.... that fumble at the end of the 1st will live up there with the Dallas Hail Mary, the Gary Anderson missed field goal and in my belief... the final pass in Brett Favre's career as another chapter in the legendary curse of the Vikings...And as far as the Moss comparison... It was reasonable to think Moss was on the downside then and he didn't want to be here... If Moss would have fumbled late, like AP did last night, NO WAY he even tries to get up compared to AP somehow willing his way to get the ball back.... when is the last time you saw a guy get tackled, fumble and recover it himself 7 yards down the field....AP is a class act, a violent competitor and one the purest talents to ever wear the Viking uniform... maybe we should trade Jared Allen because he didn't have a sack or Winfield because he didn't have a pick or Hutchinson for calling Heads.... you gotta step back and evaluate it.... knee jerk reactions are for teams like the Raiders! TurnUpTheFishing
We better not trade AP and Im sure we wont. In a few years no AP, no QB, that would be fun to watch.
zepman
AP will never be traded from the Vikes...simply won't ever happen.
bottom-bouncer
Jeeze I was just being a smart#$$ whe I said we could trade him to the pack for rodgers and a player to be named! He will get better I asure you he has thought about dropping that ball for the last 24 hrs.
Shack
My point about Moss was we traded him for what? 7th overall & 7th round pick along with Napoleon Harris??? We got WR Troy Williamson and CB Adrian Ward. Ward was our only draft pick that year and never even made it to a preseason game as a Viking. Harris only lasted one season. Oh and Troy Williamson lol. you think AP has a ball holding issue, this guy botched more key wins in a season than Mike Tice said "um" in a post game interview. Plus that whole threating an assualt thing on a head coach. Point is that the Vikings (public influence or just bad judgement) has given away more key players for nothing than IMO any other team in the NFL. Like Randy or not, we lost a player that made TD's and pulled down yards. I agree that Rice is great and (player wise) kind of reminds me of Moss. I would love to have a Moss/Rice deep pass team. I got lucky and had Moss on my FB team this year. Even though he got hurt week 3 or 4 and slowed up, he still pulled down 1200 yards, made some radical plays, and put points on the board. I feel coaching causes poor sportsman players and coaching can fix poor sportsmanship. I enjoyed watching Moss play again last season. If you get a player who shocks the NFL stat & FB world (Moss & AP), you do not give them away unless there is no chance of them putting points on the board. AP got what? Three TD's last night against the 2009 Saints??? Trade, ya right.
pike doctor
We should trade him to the Cowboys for half of their team, and half of their future 1st round draft picks.
Shack
We should trade him to the Cowboys for half of their team, and half of their future 1st round draft picks. Still not enough. We would get their 2-3rd string and we only make a draft pick "happen" about every 10 years.
catchphoto_filet
does all this really matter anyhow. once they move to another state after next year are you gong to be come a LA fan? Good bye favre good bye vikings
Born2Fish
There is the second most mindless post I have seen today. The vikings are not going to move to LA. Get over it. Not happening. Second off, there is NO WAY we trade AP for anything. I seen that he is a top 5 talent...How about a top 2 talent? The only running back I think is better is Chris Johnson. He will work on his ball handling skills during the off season(think superglue and or gorilla glue!). In all honesty, we need AP. IF Favre does not return, AP will take some heat off another QB. slurpie
No doubt AP puts up points but CTaylor is pretty good himself. Seems like he does alot of horse work and AP gets in for the short run TD. Im not taking anything from AP but Taylor would be a star on any other team and putting up good #'s of his own.

I've been a Chester Taylor fan for years. It seems more often than not when we are in a position to get 4-5 yards he seems to come up with 7. His "second and long" stats have got to be one of the best in the league. I personally would put him up against many other teams "star RB" He does push through and make very key plays only to have him removed for AP to get TD stats. Does anyone know how many TD's Taylor had this year? I'd venture to guess not many. CA

CA I am a Chester Taylor fan and I do believe he could be a full time back in this league, BUT his skill set is quite a bit below AP's. Part of the reason his YPC is so good is because everytime is is 3rd and 18 and he is in the game, we hand it off and he gets 13.... The defense is giving us that, so you can't always say... "See, he got 13yds on that carry.." He had a great season his one year he was the full time starter, but he isn't the back AP is, he just isn't.... We can all sit here and say we are experts in this and that, but if you called every team in the NFL and asked their front office who they would rather have even if Chester and AP were the same age, every single team would take AP!! He is that special of a talent and someday a lot of what is said in this thread will be laughable!
