I really did not put to much thought in who would be the best replacement for Chilli. I guess the emotion of the seeing the ineptness of Chilli was guiding my thoughts and I just saw a report on Holmgren possibly taking over the Browns.

And I truly would hate to see Wisconsin spontaneously combust.

Cowher be a great match. Any coach will have a challenge in the upcoming years trying to patch work the deffence as the Williams wall dissipates and the O line further degrades and no proven quarterback to take the leadership role.

After living in KC, I still can't believe Marty hasn't hooked on somewhere, plus I am still shocked years later he was fired in San Diego. Go 14-2 and get canned because you didn't win the Super Bowl? If that was the case, 31 head coaches should be canned every year. Under Turner, the Chargers are by far the luckiest team in the NFL, start slow, then just wait for the Broncos to blow a huge divisional lead. Done it 3 or 4 years in a row now, it is almost uncanny.

It's not exactly breaking news that coaching is the most overated posistion in all of sports Z...

Marty never impressed me much and if he or any other of the mentioned coaches were here we'd hear the same ole same ole from the same ole same ole anywhoo.. smile

Chilis been oustanding this year! Sorry that seems to bug so many of you all.

I'm sorry it bugs the Chilli supporters so much there are people who disagree he is a good coach and is not outstanding.

I also believe its the players that made the success and the lack of good opponents. Even if the Vikes made it to the SB or even won it I would not jump onto the Chili bandwagon.If anything Rick Spielman should get more credit for bringing in the right personnel to play on the team.

Funny how these coaches can win with the good if not great players but choke every year at the end of the season and still get labeled as a good coach. Go figure. I think some stated earlier the coaching position is over rated. Hogwash! The coach comes up with the game plan and orchestrates it. And I think we know where Childress keeps his wand grin

If Chilly can't get this team out of their funk Zyggi should be second guessing himself. Should have never offered him an extension until the end of the season. Now we are stuck with him whether a SB or not. The way we are going now we are one and done in the playoffs. Chilly couldn't figure out to get more help for the tackles because he was probably too engrossed with Favre and their "streams of consciousness". Chilly still being out coached by other teams and Favre.

How do you know that the Vikes still won't be in the Superbowl? If this team goes 13-3 and gets to the Superbowl, will it really be that dismal of a disappointment? Why don't we see how the season ends first before we cast our judgement.
