Minnesota Vikings @ Arizona Cardinals

One of my officiating resource boards has an NFL section. I'll see what the story was on that Field goal attempt, I honestly don't know the pro rule on that... There were some real interesting calls in that game though, particularly the replay calls.

The rules are on the NFL HSOforum, for anyone's future reference. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see a link for "rulebook".

There is a section just for missed FG's.

I also did not know the rule for FG's missed within the 20 yd line. I guess it really doesn't happen all that much!

In the end did those 7 extra yards really matter? That ensuing 53 yd TD catch may have well have been 60 the way Meachem smoked the defender. Depending on someone else to lose isn't the way to truly earn your ticket anyway.

Guys, until last night we hadn't played anyone that was really good. Look at the records of the teams we've played this year. As much as I hate to say it, we really got exposed and our coaching staff and players like others said looked surprised and confused. Arizona figured out how to stop Jared Allen and to confuse Favre and for all intents and purposes, they kicked our butt, and if our coaching staff doesn't get a clue Cincinnati and the Giants will too. Arizona's game plan is a blueprint everyone else will follow because it shut us down on both sides of the ball.

Cleveland 1-11

Detroit 2-10

San Fran 5-7

Green Bay 7-4

St. Louis 1-11

Baltimore 6-5

Pittsburgh 6-6

Green Bay 7-4

Detroit 2-10

Seattle 5-7

Chicago 5-7

Arizona 8-4

We got out-coached big time. Childress is really good at personnel decisions but it begins and ends there. A really poor coaching job on both sides of the ball, period. Granted, teams and coaches are going to be flat at times but our inability to make adjustments at halftime much less during the game continues to be a major problem.

We allowed Arizona to dictate the style and tempo of the game from the get-go to the very end. When we got the ball to start the second half we should have come out in a no-huddle offense and quick snap to force them to show their defense.

Did you notice how Arizona grouped their linebackers and secondary 10-15 yards behind their D-line in the middle of the field so as to not give Favre the chance to read their defense? They did it all night long and it raised havoc for our offense because he couldn't make any pre-reads.

Had we went no-huddle and put Favre in the shotgun with an empty backfield and thrown wide-out screens to Harvin it would have forced them to man-up and show their defense right away. We did absolutely nothing to force them to change their defensive scheme and a no-huddle would have forced them to reveal their defense or get caught with players out of position.

A no-huddle offense from the beginning to the end of the game would also be a tremendous benefit to our running game because it wouldn't allow defenses to substitute on every down and in every situation.

We have a lot of talent as a team but it won't get us very far if the guys on the sidelines don't have the wherewithall to effectively counter what other teams do against us. Last night was a prime example and our coaching staff was clueless on both sides of the ball.

They will learn from last night, hurts to see EJ out for season, and maybe career. That was ugly.

I think they will learn alot from the game last night,a nd pick it up right were they left of before the cards game.

They have a good test this weekend at he dome with cin, so we will see how they play then! Nice they are going tohome

I think part of the reality with this team too is they are not the same once you take away the dome field advantage. I don't really understand it fully but the defense especially plays at such a high energy pace at home that you just consistently don't get out of them on the road.

I'm sure the noise plays a part in it but it just seems that with this team, the difference between playing at home and on the road is greater than you see with most other teams. I think if a rematch were to occur next week in the dome, the score could very easily be reversed and then some.

That doesn't bode well if they end up travelling to N.O.

The 49ers Defense is no joke. Earlier this year my fantasy opponents regular D had a bye, so he picked up the 49ers defense for our game. The 49ers D that week tied my leagues record for most points scored by a D with 29. They had a ton of fumbles and ints with 2 or 3 returned for TDs.

Look who their coach is, I bet he emphasizes defense.

The Vikings lost to this team?

Wow. Cardinals look horrible.

That was my exact thought but then again maybe they used up so much time and energy to beat the Vikes that there tanks were half empty and the 49ers took complete advantage of how tired they were and made them look that horrible.

I guess that's why they say on any given Sunday.

If there would be a rematch at the dome the Vikes would win by 20.

Any thing can happen look how we lost to Pittsburg then they loose by close to 50 by the ravens.

HUH??? The Ravens haven't beaten the Steelers by that much. It was the Lions. They beat the Steelers by 3 earlier, and haven't played them a second time yet
