Beers are for the cabin or the permy house, IMHO. Not that I haven't had a beer or two with a group, but I don't drink when I'm alone. On the ice it's usually water or coffee.

I have had a wonderful concoction called Spider Cider that involved a large coffee pot (thoroughly cleaned to get rid of any coffee residue or taste) filled with apple cider with mulling spices in the filter. Let it steep for a few hours in the early morning, put brandy in as desired about 1/2 hour before drinking, and enjoy some of the best cider in your life! Great bump to have out of a thermos when on the ice with a designated driver.

My buddies drink Hamms. I'll drink a few of those but I hate that stuff so if I'm having a few it's usually PBR. But also dont forget about the bottle of dr mcgillicuddy chillin in the snowbank outside. That's for when the big fish bite.

Too busy to drink anything when chasing pannies around home, but slam waters when I get the chance.

When up north laker hunting, coffee with a little root beer schnapps gets the nod and celebration bumps of some kinda schnapps after putting a fish on the ice.
