PierBridge
Quote: we all got our wish while you junksonites eat crow every game he sits on the bench! DINNER IS SERVED! Actually as you know every game T-Jack is on the Vikings roster YOU all are eating Crow. T-Jack is right where he belongs, on the bench and in the number 2 slot behind The Man! By the way how's the trade or release of T-Jack going for ya?....LOL!..
james_walleye
LOL,the T-Jack haters were dreaming about getting Brady Quinn including FG and JW, great football minds that they are Glad we got Favre instead of meeting FISHINGURU's wishes and giving up a pick for Quinn. Still picking crow out of their teeth I see. Man what are you talking about?? I don't ever recall saying anything about bringing either of these 2 in. Is this what it has come down to Rick? You have to start making things up???
james_walleye
deadhorse leech...if you look at the 06 team...the 07 team...Peyton Freaking Manning would have struggled with those clowns we had at recievers...... deadhorse is right....give it up with the receiving core bit. with the running game given to junkson, peyton manning would have done just fine with any NFL receiving core. funny how you forget that part every time when talking about the recievers. we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted December 5, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted December 5, 2009 There's no doubt Favre did what few other QBs could do for us.The fact remains that the T-Jack haters like fishinguru and james_walleye have said and continue to say that T-Jack is not starter quality. I say he is and I will happily continue watching you T-Jack haters eat even more crow when he does start.
Scott K
My opinion is, it will not matter, I dont think the Vikes will re-sign T-jack after this season. If Favre decides to play another season here, the Vikes are not going to give T-Jack the money he will seek, nor will he be worth it. If Favre actually decides to retire after this season for good, then I dont see Ziggy going back to letting T-Jack lead the team. Either way, I see us going after a QB in the draft this spring, and if Favre retires, we will find a veteran QB for a short term deal. Jackson may, or may not be a starter next season, but I dont think it will be in MN!
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted December 5, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted December 5, 2009 I could be wrong and you certainly might be right but the signs I'm seeing right now point to T-Jack being groomed as our QB of the future. I know the T-Jack haters will knash their teeth at the thought of eating so much crow if that happens
fishersofmen
If T-Jack had been our starting QB this season based on his past performances we would be battling the Packers for the division and probably get knocked out in the first round if we made it. There is no question it has been Favre who has made Rice, Harvin, and Shiancoe look as well as they have this year and that is what a great QB does, makes the players around him better especially the recieving core. Tavaris is not going to bring out the best of our recievers or the players on any other NFL team. Why would we or any other team want that to be the course of action?? Now if a team wants to just "get by" with a decent QB who isn't going to raise the confidence of the rest of his team then Tavaris would be a good choice. we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted December 5, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted December 5, 2009 Agreed Favre brings the best out in the entire team.T_jack will likely start again for the same reason Young is a starting QB again.Young looked aweful before he regained his starting gig again. Now he looks decent. Imagine that. All I'm saying is, don't be surprised when you see T-Jack starting again down the road. He won't be Favre but very few QBs are or ever will be at that level. If you want to just challenge for the division title and have no shot in the playoffs, junkson is your guy. He has shown zero ability that he can lead this team to anything but that. I know the T-Jack haters will knash their teeth at the thought of eating so much crow if that happens What signs are you seeing that point to jackson being groomed as our qb of the future? The fact he's sitting on the bench? The fact that he draws mop up duty? I guess I haven't heard Childress mention anything about grooming him for anything in the past year or so. I don't think anybody will be eating crow just because tjack would be starting if Favre retires. I think the whole point is whether or not jackson would be a quality starter. If he does become one here, alot of us will eat crow. However, I don't think anyone but you will be in line for the crow. Maybe 58 as well. Such a self-proclaimed viking fan looking forward to seeing the team go back to having zero chance of making a playoff run? It really seems as though you are the closet packer fan. Why would a true viking fan look forward to this?
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted December 6, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted December 6, 2009 The signs are clear. Childress has been signed to a long term contract and Childress sees T-Jack as a McNabb clone. Of course he's going to be quiet about it. He has Favre now.If T-Jack can become McNabb like then I will certainly look forward to it. Anyone who says they know for certain T-Jack can't or can make it as a starter is kidding themselves. You're going by hope....wonder what has the better odds of panning out....Hes the perfect fit to a team that is going no where, not a team that is loaded with talent and ready for playoff runs the next coming years.... Big Dave2
If Favre would retire after this year(but I don't think he will) the vikes won't be after the "McNabb clone", they'll be going after the real thing. My guess is that T-Jack will not ever be a regular starter in Minnesota again unless there just is no other option. Anyone who says they know for certain T-Jack can't or can make it as a starter is kidding themselves. When did Childress say tjack was a mcnabb clone? Making things up are we now? Wishful thinking? Pretty weak effort. Jackson has nowhere near the talent mcnabb had coming out of college. He is a poor mans mcnabb at best. A very poor mans. You seem to be quite good at trying to convince others that tjack can be a good starter.Only way tjack starts for the vikes again is if favre gets hurt. Tjack won't be around next year unless it's uncapped. Even then it's highly doubtful since we'd take a big hit to the cap if we got rid of sage. I really don't think sage got signed to be tjacks backup. He was signed to win the competition and didn't really show he was better than tjack and once they signed favre it was a moot point. If Favre retires and we have an uncapped year we could see a tjack/sage competition version 2. I'm hoping Favre sticks around for next year and we draft a guy that has real talent not just a project with upside.
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted December 6, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted December 6, 2009 I'm with you koonie. Anytime we can get an upgrade we should. T-Jack could be another late bloomer ala Vince Young. You don't see many back-up QBs, in the NFL known for quick comebacks, coming in for half of the 4th quarter and driving for TDs to close out games in the NFL when you have a healthy elite caliber QB already at the helm. Gotta give T-Jack his props if you're a true fan. He looked very good on that drive. Of course the crow eaters do everything they can to minimize it because they hate being wrong The signs are there that T-Jack could end up being another Rich Gannon. koonie
Ok I'm putting up a STOP SIGN! Giving Tjack props has nothing to do with being a true fan. Just because I, or someone else, doesn't like a guy on the team doesn't mean we aren't true fans. Tjack may emerge but he'll never get to a level where he can take a team to the Bowl(imo). He is a game manager at best. If he remains in Minnesota and they give him a chance I HOPE he becomes competent in that role. I just don't see it though. You might but I don't. Who's right/wrong? We'll see.
james_walleye
Exactly, enough with the your not a true fan if you don't like jackson, or if you call him junkson, or if you don't want to give him props for a TD drive in mop up duty. What a rediculous take.....

we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted December 7, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted December 7, 2009 LOL-wfw, you have the right idea. All I was saying is a true Vikes fan gives a Vikes player props when he does a good job. Unless you're avoiding good ol crow. I really hate to say this because it's been a painful evening so far. Favre and our whole team is having an off night. Reminds me of the Philly playoff game a little. Not good. Do any of you T-jack haters remember him cleaning up on this same Card team last year? I see FG thinks Young and McNabb are junk QBs too ehhhh....tells a story right there wouldn't you say? Especially considering the 99 yd drive Young QB'd his team on to win the game last week against the same Card defense we faced tonight. I suppose you T-Jack haters will use the same logic you've used to bash T-Jack, to now bash Favre... I hope not. A little more crow please....
