Ticks bad this year?

have you noticed worse ticks this year? i've heard of nothing but people pulling tons of ticks off them this year.. i actually pulled one off myself the other day.. and i rarely get ticks.. cant even remember the last one i had..

I've had no more than a half dozen ticks on me in my lifetime. This year is a whole different ballgame. I've picked off close to three dozen in the few times I've been out in the woods. Nasty little buggers.

I'm way down here in Indiana and I've already had 2 ticks on me this year.

I've had a couple dozen wood ticks and 5 deer ticks, one of which was embedded. Some of them have been almost microscopic, small even for deer ticks

Yes there are a lot of ticks out this year. Can't tell you how many I have found because I have lost count.

I haven't gotten any yet this year, but my dad was saying he went out to move a tree stand and he stopped counting at 50 ticks when he got back to the truck

I think there are some big patches around... have been in the woods alot lately. Most came really early it seemed, around trout opener. Found one in the last couple weeks during turkey season.

While picking morels this year, I really have not noticed much difference in how many I get on me from each outing from this season over any others. I always get a fair amount on me.

Lots of ticks that I have pulled off of me already this year. Started finding them about two weeks ago and have had many since.

I just got back from the PineRiver area and had about 2 to 3 a day and even a deer tick

Ok the thought of them embedding themselves just drives me nuts. Looking at the deer tick it is very small, what is the best removal technique for them? I have had to remove a couple in the years, and off my dog, however they are big old wood ticks. Hopefully being bald will help with them hiding in my hair. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Picked a deer tick off the dog while it was still crawling around but otherwise been tick free this year.

I've been lucky, not 1 this year yet. I've been fishing the river banks and been in some taller grass, and nothing yet. Its gotta be worse in certain areas over others.

Lots of ticks where I was south of Brainerd this weekend but I'd say the normal amount compared to the past couple years I've been in that location.

I have found my share of ticks this year but I don't think they are any worse than previous years. All it takes is one and you feel them crawling on you all night.

Went out to Buffalo State Park and did the walkabout on the trails and didn't see any when I got home. Maybe too cool or rainy???

I've been out in the woods a few tims this spring and have only found one, and that one was just crawling on my hand. My kid did have one on his ear a few weeks back though.

Last year in NW Wisc. I pulled off 35 in one day during Memorial weekend. This year only about a dozen. The "Tick Taxi" (dog w/Frontline) brought us a few as well.
