SledNeck
LOL~ We could bring Barry Switzer in to Coach the Bone! What about Cuddyer? In addition to being the greatest baseball player on earth, he could possibly be the greatest football coach too.

Brade4
I'm not a Viking fan but they already have the best runningback in the league as long as he can take care of the ball and not fumble. So I don't see any reason they would sign Vick. He is just like a runningback. He is a guy that could go to New England and play a slot or receiver. Another negative is he is sitting for the first six weeks. If the Vikes try to go after Vick they are stupid, stupid, stupid.
Scott K
He is getting pressure from the Viking's players, and rightfully so!Quote:Jared Allen made it clear Tuesday that he has a deadline for a Brett Favre decision even if coach Brad Childress does not."I have firm faith in our management and our coaching staff that once camp starts and we don't have a decision then I'm pretty sure it's going to be dropped, it's going to be over with and we’re going to move forward with the guys that we have," Allen said. LMITOUT
At least Longwell is level headed about it, unlike that loud-mouthed hillbilly J Allen.Quote:“I know it’s been said that he owes the Vikings something. I don’t see it that way,” Longwell said. “I think he’s worked so hard to get his arm ready, his body ready with the surgery and getting into shape and everything. I just think he’s got to do what’s right for him. … He just wants to be at peace with it. There’s no reason to make a decision two weeks ago and not be at peace with it. I think we still have time. I think he wants to be in there for the full time even though he doesn’t necessarily enjoy training camp. He wants to be there.”
BrianLucky13
Its cuz Longwell was a Packer!! Viking players are mostly criminals!!!

pegleg
Brett Favre is too busy making Sears commercials. He can't decide what TV he wants to buy at Sears either just like if he wants to play football.
ozzie
Forget Favre, I heard Jeff George has been working out!!!!! Jeff has been making "uncle Rico" type tapes to get him signed....I wonder if he drives a van and sells tuperware also?

ozzie
KFAN reports that Brad Childress stated that Brett Favre will remain retired and not join the vikings
Scott K
Brett Favre has decided to stay retired, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.Beat writer Judd Zulgad "just received a phone call from Brad Childress who said he talked to Brett Favre and that he was informed that Favre is staying retired." The decision isn't as shocking as it would've been a month ago, but it's still a stunner. Favre has detested surgery ever since his battle with a painkillers addiction, but went through with a biceps operation in May anyways. It looks like the Sage Rosenfels-Tarvaris Jackson battle is back on.Source: Minneapolis Star TribuneRelated: Vikings

toughguy
Wow. I still don't know if it's over. After camp is closed I could see him changing his mind....again. When he changes his mind 2 weeks from now I'll post a quote on this post. The crystal ball has spoken.
Steve Foss
Well, that would be coolest for Packers fans. No way you guys are going to win a Super Bowl this season with one of those other clowns at the helm. Go Pack!
BRULEDRIFTER
I am beyond giddy! I feel like a kid celebrating 5 Christmases and Birthdays all in 1 hour!!!!!! Things can only get better for the Vikes now!
AWH
No way you guys are going to win a Super Bowl this season with one of those other clowns at the helm. Probably not. But it wouldn't happen with Favre either!Aaron
Jim Uran
OMG, what the hell. What a drama queen. Hey Foss, you guys will still be playing second fiddle, (if that) to us this year. Even with our less than avg QB'S!!!!!!
eyehunter
What the hell is right.....Why would a person put everybody through all of this for months???Well, we'll just have to embarass the Packers with the people we have on the roster now, good news is that it's one less dude that will get cut before the start of camp and one move dude that has a chance of making the team. hoggs222
I feel sorry for the guy that went out and bought a vikes favre jersey
Sandmannd
Yea, I don't think it's over. He'll come in by the preseason or wait until the last game of preseason and say I want to play. It ain't over yet. He's an attention hound.
Steve Foss
Well, we don't even know if it's true. We've just had a preliminary Web site news report. Favre hasn't spoken to confirm it. Until he does, for me it's just a rumor. Heck, given his noted flip-flops, even if he does say he's staying retired . . . it's just a rumor! Hey, c'mon, those of you Vikes fans who also are Favre-haters have to be loving this. Now you can rip on him to your heart's content (or should it be contempt?), and it's even more important because all this drama is over your own team! LMITOUT
I feel sorry for the guy that went out and bought a vikes favre jersey Are you kidding me? I just got done putting it in the safe! Early retirement here I come!! I put my order in about a month ago and knew going in that he may end up not coming, but that only added to the desire for the jersey. It's now almost a one-off and although there are many out there already, it's still unique and will be a talker for years to come and that's worth it right there. Not to mention it's a $250+ jersey I got for $50. Plus, if the Vikings fail miserably this year (like that's even a question) I can point at the purple #4 on my back and say it was my guy who caused the 2009 train wreck that is the never ending Vikings legacy. Looks like my "inside job" scenario that I posted a while back is playing out beautifully!
