Tonight:

Cuddy, 2 run HR to get Twins going...walked with bases LOADED (doesn't count AGAIN for BA with RISP, but rbi. Then Delmon struck out on low slider whistle...3 left on. Cuddy singled, stole 2nd, took 3rd on overthrow. Young tripled..1 rbi, scored on Tolberts hit. Young homered on "cookie" ...He CAN hit them if they are strikes.

Tally: draw????? or Cuddy ahead 3-2 rbi's.

Good thing it is a TEAM GAME...TEAM does well, if everybody does their job...

Not true Sled he's had 3 good years out of the last 4 and in that lone so called bad year he was injured.

This will be his 3rd year out of the last 4 with 600 AB's 24 plus dingers and 270-ish batting avr!

another good game tonite. I couldn't find it at any of those conspiracy starting stat websites but I hear that if he keeps it up at this pace this will be his 8th year out of the last 9 where he's had 40+ homers and 25 or more stolen bases, 100 + game winning rbi's and 20 saves from the bullpen! and he would have gotten it the 9th year had he not taken that one season off to build churches and homes in those poor 3rd world countries (sorry I just couldn't resist. after all a couple good false stats deserves more right? wink

I'll go on record that I believe that he has defintely earned his salary this year with his strong play these past few weeks and overall season stats. I didn't think he had it in him to get important hits late in the game in key situations but he seems to have found his groove and I truly hope he keeps it up right through the end and hopefully in the playoffs. If he wouldn't have struggled so much with risp earlier this year, he very well may be battling Mauer for AL MVP and this particular post would have been dead a long time ago.

Cuddy's Hr was a solo blast. First run scored by Punto stealing 2nd and scoring on a WP.

Cuddy Hr come after Kubel GIDP. I doubt Cuddy hit's a 3run HR.

Still, I have to eat crow on Cuddy this year. PLaying great at 2 posistions and basically carrying the team on his bat.

I should talk smack about more Twins. like-- Tolbert.

MAn, we need one more player to step up and I believe we are in.

The Tigers are starting panic mode, big time.

The Twins have nothing to lose and are playing like it.

I don't know, do we have another $7 million dollar man we can compare to on the team?

Cuddyer; 143Games, 551 ab, 86 runs, 153 hits, 34 doubles,6 triples,30 home runs, 88 rbi, .525 slg, and .278 ba

Crede; 90 games, 333 ab, 42 runs, 75 hits, 16 doubles, 1 triple, 15 home runs, 48 rbi, .414 slg, and .225 ba

Everyone was thrilled to get Crede for those dollars, knowing that he had a poor chance of giving the Twins a full year, yet Cuddyer takes all the unwarranted abuse. It all shakes out at the end of the year. It's a game of averages. Cuddyer is and has been, when healthy, above average.

mudcutter,

thanks for the correction...noticed on the highlights this morning , it was a solo blast. 2 rbis a piece then, and a draw.Cuddy was pretty much "on the ball" last night though...warning track out, dinger, hard lineout, walk with bases loaded...so a 3run blast wouldn't have been out of the question.

Tolbert and Harris are "on the bubble I think for next year. Some of the guys you see playing more now, are being "checked out".

OOOPS forgive me "rolling eyes" it was 16 home-runs not 24 the one year. But everything else "600 plate appearances and 550 at bats each year along with 276,284 avrs and the 24 dingers and 109 FREAKING RBI'S "newly added to prove you guys wrong again" are all Correct! Nice try on your grade school semantics again. But thanks anywhoo I over looked the 24 and 109 monster year he had...LOL

The reason Delmon Young hasn't had the AB's this year is simple.. Kubel is a better hitter and Delmon can't play in the outfield at a high-school level...K?

That being said it sure is nice to have him now and he's greatly contributing to the teams success.

Props to Delmon! Well done keep up the good work!

Hes sure improving his trade value, isn't he? Gone from a case of baseballs to a case of baseballs AND 3 bats!!

What I got from an interview this past week from Richard Bremer on a local radio station is that the outfield spot is Delmon's to lose. He said there is a reason why Delmon is getting more playing time when the playoffs are on the line than Gomez. Unless Gomez can show some clue to game situations at the plate, he may be the odd man (odd or otherwise) out.

I wonder if the rest of the league realizes that the Twins make the best of what is available and they put a guy out for trade, he may not be worth much.

Question may be whether potential is more valuable than ability.

pb, you are a very funny poster. you make a statement that what someone else said was not true and in that very same post, you list false information. and now you want to call it semantics? and now you also say that you forgot about the one season with 24 dingers yet your earlier post said 3 out of 4 years with 24+ dingers? so does that mean when you said 3 out of 4 years you were actually thinking only 1 out of 4 but felt the need to pad stats?

cuddy's having a good enough year that you don't need to add a bunch of incorrect stats to try to prove your point. try sticking with true statments and facts if you are going to present them as facts rather than an opinion.

for example if you said that according to a specific stat webiste that cuddy's hot hitting as of late has moved him up to #10 on the team batting average for the season with runners in scoring position, you would be stating a true fact as of yesterday. and if you said that you think morneau did not have a down year this year because his stats are very similar to cuddy's then that would what they call an opinion. it's really a simple process. (and if you weren't so quick to resort to name calling when someone disagrees with something you say you probably won't get called out when you are caught throwing out false statements.)

I put out 1 incorrect stat and corrected myself. He's had 2 not 3 of the last 4 years with 24 plus dingers which still proves you guys are incorrect in your fantacy land assement of Cuddyer! Pretty simple. Not sure where you are getting one from..oh maybe you're in denial and shock from this years career 30 DINGER on slaught. LOL! Difference between you and I is I admit my one digit mistake and you GUYS run and hide from your multiple blunders .... smile

And yes Cuddyer has stepped into the batters box "attempting to BAT" in a MLB baseball game over 600 times in 3 of the last 4 years.

If you, Sled and Fish want to continue to be dolts with your childesh semantics go for it, it make's for good fonder!... grin

Personally when I'm destroyed on something I take it like a man!

I got the "one" from your earlier statement about overlooking the 24/109 year. It's ok though, no need to try explain it any further. We know now what you meant; sometimes our fingers don't always type what we are trying to convey. I'm sure you will take it like a man and not resort to name calling or anything silly like that.

Today was a tough one for the whole team. But on the good side, they still control their own destiny.
