He has caught 1100 marlin and now he has a show called extreme fishing. I still wonder how they got that Marlin to stay on top of the water. They say that they just fed it and it stayed up but I don't believe it. He said that it took him over a year to do it.

I wonder how long it'll be before that guy makes the news for all the wrong reasons? Sort of a Grizzley Man (David Tredwell) meets Crocodile Hunter (Steve Irwin)-type ending. On one hand, what he's doing is pretty cool. On the other hand, if you play with fire, you'll get burned.

yeah my question right away was there's a camera in the water already. i suppose it could be rigged somehow, maybe a few ways, but i just don't know. camera as he jumps and camera from the perfect angle from underwater. i'm not convinced that fish would still be there if a cameraman jumped in first, or swam that close from afar. unless it was tired from being caged up and harrased. it looked awfull lethargic if you ask me. a fish that size i would have to believe the incredible hulk would have a hard time hanging onto. that's only one of the hardest fighting, strongest fish on the planet and that's not even pound for pound. something ''fishy'' for sure. still pretty cool to see.

Lord knows we've had debates on delayed mortality of a muskie after a 2 minute fight and a quick water release. I'm guessing the PETAs at some point will jump all over a grown man doing a 50 foot belly flop onto a fish. Come to think of it that fish is lucky it wasn't my large arse doing the flopping!!! eek

I have no doubts it's straight up. It's a striped marlin...they feed/lie around on the surface often. Bait it, get a camera man in the water, I can see it being done. Probably take a few attempts, and a heck of a lot of nerve, but doable. The marlin didn't look stressed/worn out, no different than many I've seen close by the boat. Heck, I've seen plenty of marlin that I could have dived on from the flybridge of a big boat. Not that I would, I value my life more than that, but possible? For sure.
