goblueM
Anybody know how much money is generated each year and where it has gone? Currently over 100,000 of the plates are on Minnesota vehicles. "The DNR has purchased nearly 9,000 acres of land with the license plate funds and all of these acres are designated as a State Wildlife Management Area, State Forest, Aquatic Management Area, or Scientific and Natural Area. All of these acquired lands are open for the public to enjoy and nearly 7,000 of the 9,000 acres are open to public hunting."
FishNovice101
None of them really scream "critical habitat" to me. They are all just iconic MN scenes.Critical habitat these days is the house next door being foreclosed on, or the job you "used" to have.Anyway, I do like the fishing boat first, and walleye second. Bottle Fish
A-boatB-walleyeG-wood duckH-pheasant In that order.I do like the deer and loon ones better than the current ones however. The deer one looks like they are humping and the loon ones are a bit girlish for my taste, too much reddish pink in the loon one.

Aaron Carrell
I wonder how many people are going to interpret that last column "Last pick" incorrectly. The way I was thinking is its the spot for the worst plate in your eyes. I'd bet you half of the people doing the survey will assume it means their 4th ranked plate not 8th. Oh well, poorly worded and hopefully won't matter, but you never know.Oh, and I did1. Boat2. Walleye3. Pheasant8. Flower

PierBridge
From the DNR!The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reminds citizens toshow support for their favorite Critical Habitat license plate designsbefore the Web site survey closes at midnight on March 22. So far, morethan 17,000 people have participated in the survey.View the eight new plate designs and indicate your four favorites bytaking the survey online.DNR Commissioner Mark Holsten and Department of Public Safety (DPS)Commissioner Michael Campion will take this important citizen input intoconsideration. The four plate designs will be announced late next week.Motorists who choose Critical Habitat plates will pay an additional$30-per-year fee. The plates will be available for purchase at DPSDeputy Registrar offices around the state later this year. Funds fromthe sale of the plates help the DNR provide matching dollars to purchaseland that is important to the survival of many plants and animals inMinnesota.“The DNR developed the new designs to allow citizens more ways toshow their conservation colors,” Commissioner Holsten said. “Morethan 100,000 Minnesota motorists have chosen the the two existingCritical Habitat plates featuring a loon and deer for their vehicles. Wethink the new designs will be very popular.”
LMITOUT
I'd bet you half of the people doing the survey will assume it means their 4th ranked plate not 8th. It does mean the 4th ranked plate. I had to re-read the directions too as I picked 'E' as my "last" pick, but then I read it again and understand it to mean pick your top four. Glad I did before I hit submit because who wants a pink plate on their big, bad, gas-guzzling SUV?? It makes no sense at all to list the last column as "LAST CHOICE". It should be 1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice, and then 4th choice. Doesn't surprise me much though... But, if they did intend to ask for your least preferred plate, then they worded the directions wrong and you can throw this survey out the window as it's worthless. PierBridge
I would assume or hope less than 2 percent of the people had any difficulty figuring this out. Pretty cut and dry to me. Quote:Please rank your four top choices - 1 for your top choice, 2 for your second, 3 for your third and 4 for your last choice. In other words the so called questionably wording will be statistically irrelevant.
DTro
If you think about it, why would they want to know the worst of the 8?
LMITOUT
Well if one was overwhelmingly not favored, i.e. "last choice", they could possibly get an idea of which one not to offer again or maybe the style that people absolutely do not care for. Either way, the poll was very poorly worded.
