Ok is it me or is a lot of big name players hurt this year. It seems to be a lot of this going around the league, not just here.

Yes we do have a sox reject with us now, but it seems to me, a lot more people hurt b-4 the season starts.

Oh by the way Happy SPRING, and go Twins.

I have low back pain and still punch the clock every day. If there's nothing wrong, take some tylenol, rub some dirt on it, see a chiropractor, pop a tough pill and get behind the plate. I have a feeling, being he is the hometown boy too, he will get a little favre-itis, anytime he has a bad game someone will ask him if its due to the back or the kidney or the knee or that his feelings are still hurt about what Torri said about him 2 years ago.

Sit back and relax Windy, if we ever get sunshine around here, our attitudes will change. Baseball season will start, Mauer will be playing, probably not right away, and by the All-Star game will be in mid-season form and all this "B" as in "B", "S" as in "S" will settle down.

What I was trying to say in my post was if there is nothing structurally wrong, then play through it. He's been checked over by 2 or 3 different specialists, all say its only inflammation, so get out there and play. I think was was Hunter's quote on him a couple years back, some guys will play through the pain, others like Joe need to feel 110% before stepping on the field.

we have a plethora of catchers right now, there should be no talks of adding another. not only do we have mauer, arguably the best in the game, but we also have drew butera and wilson ramos as well as the rehabing jose morales all on our 40 man roster. thats four catchers, or 10% of our 40 man roster devoted to the position that we have arguably the best player in the game.

if there is any position we could use a wily vet at is a pitcher. remember when we decided to add carl pavano as the wily vet to mentor our other starting pitchers who were all really young? look how that turned out. we could use another pavano like SP right now.

If he wasn't from St. Paul he would still be the BEST CATCHER IN BASEBALL by quite a ways! He is going to miss some time because of nagging dings, but at the same time, he will be a top 10 MLB hitter for the next 10 years....

Most professional athletes are paid for what they have done in the past. There are very few top notch veterans who are worth what they are paid at the end of their contract.

Even if Mauer was hitting .340 the Twins would still have terrible pitching and be in about the same place they are right now.
